Bruker has an opening for a versatile engineer with experience building systems using multiple technologies and operating systems while maintaining a secure-by-design architecture focus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and support a high quality, innovative, and fully functional software system that complies with coding standards and technical design; adept to develop and troubleshoot on different technologies and platforms.
• Manage the challenges of a complicated and regulated software environment with efficient and robust design choices and coding practices.
• Author and maintain software and security-related technical documentation.
• Apply rigorous secure coding practices through the implementation of controls to prevent vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and assess newly discovered vulnerabilities and create validated security patches for deployment.
• Integrate and maintain automated static (SAST), dynamic (DAST), and software composition analysis (SCA) tools into the CI/CD pipeline to track open-source vulnerabilities (SBOM tracking).

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong mix of hardware and software knowledge of embedded/firmware systems; including microcontroller architectures, hardware communications protocols, and debugging tools.
• Proficient skills in linear algebra and parallel computing (with CUDA), alongside a solid grasp of hardware memory layouts and optimization techniques for integration of image processing algorithms (parallel algorithms and data structures) to a production environment.
• Familiar with software development processes that adhere to FDA Software and Cybersecurity guidance documents, IEC 62304 Software Lifecycle, and ISO 14971 Risk Management.
• Effectively document detailed technical, architecture, risk-management, and compliance records that meet software and cybersecurity requirements for regulatory submissions.
• Self-starter, proactive, collaborative, and competent at working both independently and in a small team environment.
• Experience working with Windows, Linux, VMs, APIs and services, Git, Visual Studio, C/C#, Python, C++, CUDA.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar degree
• Minimum of 4 years of related work experience; experience in vitro diagnostic (IVD) or medical device industry or equivalent, desired.

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $67,500.00 and $108,000.00 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position.
