How can you make an impact? McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for a Marketing Data Operations Developer. The Marketing Data Operations Developer is responsible for helping the McGraw Hill Higher Education team build ETL processes, manage marketing data, build segmentation, ML Modeling, and support campaign analytics and marketing automation efforts. This role reports to the Director of Marketing Automation, and will be a key contributor to marketing data architecture and data transformation and segmentation process development.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
What you will be doing:
- Develop a standardized and comprehensive segmentation library of MHE customers, for use in marketing automation campaigns and marketing analytics.
- Work directly with the Marketing Automation team to ready segments for use in Marketo.
- Be responsible for end-to-end segmentation process, from project management, requirements gathering, development, data transmission optimization and the documentation process.
- Develop best practices and segmentation for leveraging a customer data platform in support of dynamic segmentation.
- Consult on marketing database requirements and design and serve as the database administrator for the Marketing team’s database.
- Develop and document standardized data extraction, transformation, and load processes to support analytics and marketing segmentation.
- Support design of analytical framework in the management of the marketing database.
- Advise on optimized segmentation and analytics data architecture and CDP adoption.
- Serve as the marketing liaison for the MDM initiative.
- Introduce ML Analytics process to Higher Ed and build business use cases for leveraging ML based analytics.
- Through the ML process, build requirements and use cases for a CDP and AI assisted data processing.
- Support Marketing Automation by building and optimizing backend automation, including our email trigger process and reporting.
- Support script development to leverage in-platform personalization and segmentation.
- Develop and optimize data load strategies to support marketing automation.
- Implement centralized code/script repository in support of all marketing operations functions (segmentation, database management, analytics and automation).
We’re looking for someone with:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience working in a data operations and/or marketing science role handling large, complex data.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience working with SQL, database design and architecture, and building ETL processes and shared query libraries.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience working with Python, JavaScript, and web analytics tools.
- Minimum two (2) years of applied knowledge of advanced statistical techniques used in quantitative analysis, with the ability to select the appropriate tools and solutions to answer a client's central business issue.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience working with data visualization platforms such as Domo or Tableau.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of experience working with Marketo and Salesforce.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of experience working with Alteryx or similar ETL platforms.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of experience leveraging Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) to build, maintain, or enhance customer segmentation.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.

The pay range for this position is between $108,100 - $115,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
