OVERVIEW:

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a Senior Director, Distribution Center Operations to lead our Conklin, NY Distribution Center. This facility operates as both an RDC and an MFC, playing a critical role in supporting stores, eCommerce, and customer demand across the network.

The Senior Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for all distribution center activities, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate flow of merchandise while delivering exceptional service to our stores and business partners. This leader will oversee a large-scale operation, manage significant financial resources, and drive continuous improvement across people, processes, and technology.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
•Lead all aspects of day-to-day distribution center operations, including receiving, warehousing, inventory management, fulfillment, shipping, labor planning, and inventory accuracy across a high-volume omnichannel facility.
•Drive operational excellence by improving key performance indicators including safety, quality, productivity, service, cost, merchandise velocity, and overall financial performance through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
•Build, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team, creating accountability, succession plans, and a culture centered on engagement, ownership, and continuous improvement.
•Manage all aspects of facility financial performance, including operating budgets, payroll planning, workforce planning, capital investments, and overall P&L stewardship.
•Partner closely with Merchandising, Store Operations, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, HR, Finance, Technology, and Supply Chain Excellence to improve operational performance and support enterprise initiatives.
•Champion operational transformation through automation, process optimization, WMS capabilities, standardized operating practices, and scalable management systems.
•Foster a people-first culture while effectively managing labor relations and maintaining a positive, union-free work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 10-15 years experience
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale retail, omnichannel, or consumer distribution operations with accountability for operational performance, financial results, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record of improving key operating metrics including safety, quality, service, productivity, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, and cost performance within complex distribution environments.
  • Experience leading organizations through significant transformation, including operational turnarounds, automation, facility start-ups, consolidations, organizational redesign, or business integrations.
  • Track record of building and developing high-performing leadership teams through coaching, succession planning, talent development, and organizational change.
  • Experience supporting both retail store replenishment and direct-to-consumer fulfillment within complex distribution environments; experience in multi-brand retail operations is a plus.
  • Strong operational and financial acumen with experience managing large operating budgets, labor planning, KPIs, and cross-functional business partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders while balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day operational execution.

Targeted Pay Range: $153,700.00 - $285,300.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
