Description
Enabling smaller, more powerful and energy-efficient microchips – working where tomorrow takes shape.
Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are manufactured using ZEISS technologies. As the heart of every electronically controlled system, they have become an indispensable part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With highly precise lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, more powerful and more energy-efficient microchips – and, through its innovations, plays a key role in shaping the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.
Join our team and, in your new role, develop highly sophisticated optical measurement systems for the qualification of high-performance optics for DUV and EUV applications in collaboration with internal and external project partners.
Your Role
In your role, you will:
- Select suitable measurement methods based on technical requirements
- Design and develop measurement systems
- Develop measurement procedures, calibration methods, data filters and analysis methods
- Translate physical principles and approaches into high-performance algorithms that meet the most demanding requirements
- Commission and qualify complex measurement systems for the optical qualification of high-performance optics and provide technical support during manufacturing
- Provide technical leadership to interdisciplinary teams from R&D, engineering and manufacturing and take responsibility for managing work packages in this field
Your Profile
You have:
- An excellent Master's degree in a scientific or technical discipline such as physics, technical optics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable field; a PhD would be an advantage
- In-depth knowledge of optical metrology, particularly interferometric or spectroscopic measurement methods
- A deep understanding of measurement algorithm development, calibration methods, error budgets, data analysis and data processing
- Practical experience in working with optical setups and their alignment
- Strong programming skills, preferably in Python
- Excellent teamwork skills, a confident and professional manner and strong communication skills
- Experience in project work would be an advantage
- A high level of self-motivation and commitment, combined with a strong interest in thinking beyond established approaches and driving topics forward
