Description
A newly established, physician-led private pathology practice serving Piedmont Augusta is seeking a full-time General Surgical Pathologist.
This is an opportunity to join an experienced, collegial team and help shape the development of a growing practice. The position offers a broad and varied community-hospital case mix, a manageable call schedule, competitive compensation, and a two-year path to partnership.

Clinical responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide broad general surgical pathology services for Piedmont Augusta. The practice handles a diverse mix of hospital and outpatient cases, including:
- Breast pathology
- Gastrointestinal pathology
- Gynecologic and gynecologic-oncology pathology
- Genitourinary pathology
- General oncologic and surgical pathology
- Cytopathology
- Frozen sections and intraoperative consultations
- Limited hematopathology, including bone-marrow cases
- Clinical pathology and blood-bank consultation as needed
Pediatric pathology and medical renal pathology are not included in the practice’s routine scope.
The hospital provides the technical component, allowing the pathologists to focus primarily on professional interpretation, clinical consultation, quality, and physician relationships.
