About the Position
What You'll Do
Remote Clinical Supervision
- Provide ongoing supervision of assigned SLPAs in accordance with Texas licensing requirements and Davies Institute policies.
- Review clinical documentation, treatment plans, progress, and implementation of therapy recommendations.
- Meet virtually with SLPAs for scheduled supervision, case consultation, and clinical problem-solving.
- Provide timely feedback, coaching, and guidance when clinical questions arise.
- Maintain required supervision documentation and ensure supervision requirements are completed appropriately.
- Collaborate with clinic leadership regarding clinical concerns, professional development needs, or areas requiring additional support.
Mentoring & Professional Development
- Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for assigned SLPAs.
- Help SLPAs strengthen clinical reasoning, treatment planning, documentation, family education, and professional communication.
- Identify opportunities for continued professional growth.
- Support a positive learning environment in which SLPAs feel comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance.
Periodic Onsite Support
- Visit the clinic periodically for direct observation of SLPAs and their patients.
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback following observations.
- Model therapy techniques or clinical strategies when appropriate.
- Participate in occasional in-person mentoring, training, or clinical meetings.
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Texas SLP license in good standing
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Meets all Texas requirements to supervise SLPAs
- Pediatric clinical experience strongly preferred
- Experience supervising or mentoring SLPAs, graduate clinicians, or other developing clinicians preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
- Comfortable providing constructive feedback and coaching
- Dependable, responsive, and organized
- Comfortable supervising clinicians through a combination of virtual and in-person interaction
