Job Description:
This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution that supports the strategic outcomes of the Business' Products and Services. Key responsibilities include defining the target operating environment, designing for client resiliency, assisting with solution design, and defining non-functional requirements. Job expectations include working with stakeholders and service providers aligned to the Business' strategic objectives, evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions, and contributing to the architecture roadmap.
- Deliver high-quality architecture solutions for complex, multi‑generational programs spanning multiple business domains.
- Partner across GCMT teams to ensure alignment, visibility, and execution of architecture deliverables, strategies, and initiatives.
- Define and enforce enterprise architecture principles and standards, aligned to industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic architectural direction and support across Global Capital Markets Technology & Global Corporate & Investment Banking Technology.
Collaborate with enterprise horizontals (GBCT Architecture, DMTEA, GIS, APSE, CTI) to ensure consistency and alignment of horizontals across the GCMT organization.
Collaborate with enterprise architects to ensure consistency and alignment across the GCMT organization.
Help define and shape the GCMT architecture strategy and roadmap for the next 3–5 years.
Develop and maintain target application architectures, blueprints, and strategic roadmaps aligned to enterprise objectives.
Drive adoption, reuse, integration, and convergence of horizontal technology capabilities across GCMT applications.
Evaluate emerging technologies and determine best-fit solutions for the enterprise.
Works across the business, operations and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision for complex solutions and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements into a technology backlog to enable the technology roadmap and functionality to support evolving capabilities and services
Contributes to the creation of the architecture roadmap of defined domains (Business, Application, Data, and Technology) in support of the product roadmap and the development of best practices including standardized templates
Clarifies the architecture, assists with system design to support implementation, and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in architecture roles involving end-to end technology strategy/architecture solutions.
Strong expertise in both traditional AI/ML and Generative AI.
Proficient in API management, API security, events and data/insights architecture.
Proven ability to design and deliver solutions for large‑scale, complex business problems, ensuring high resiliency, scalability, performance, and concurrency.
Strong capability in evaluating emerging technologies, presenting clear comparisons, trade‑offs, and target use cases.
Well‑versed in agile and hyper-agile methodologies, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and enterprise architectures.
Effective collaborator across business and technology teams, translating strategy into practical, scalable solutions.
Recognized thought leader, demonstrating openness, inclusiveness, and the ability to incorporate diverse perspectives.
Experienced in leading discussions and driving alignment in matrixed organizations, with a focus on team and organizational success.
Strong presence in enterprise architecture forums, effectively representing architecture viewpoints and driving decisions.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to influence across LOBs and technology leadership.
Desired Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience across Global Banking /Global Markets domains, including data analytics, reporting, and insights, as well as traditional AI/ML and Generative AI.
Experience with cloud‑native architectures and container-based platforms.
Hands-on software design and development experience using modern programming languages.
Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and container automation practices.
Strong capability in architecture evaluation and decision-making, leveraging Alternative Architecture Analysis (AAA), proofs of concept (POCs), vendor evaluations, and other structured methods.
Experience working in Agile SDLC environments, with a focus on iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
Self-driven and innovative mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality, measurable outcomes.
