Description
It's a great feeling to work for a company that does so much good for others around the world!
Academic Req: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
Certifications:
• One or more active Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Business Analyst, or another relevant Salesforce credential.
• PMP, Certified ScrumMaster, or comparable project delivery certification
Role Overview:
• The Salesforce Project Manager provides dedicated oversight of Salesforce project delivery, enhancements, and prioritized business requests across FirstDay Foundation and its affiliates. Working closely with CIS leadership, business stakeholders, architects, administrators, developers, and vendors, this role ensures work is properly evaluated, prioritized, planned, communicated, and delivered.
• This is a hands-on delivery leadership role, not a meeting coordination or status-tracking position. The Project Manager converts business priorities into actionable plans, maintains a reliable delivery cadence, surfaces risks early, and drives decisions and accountability.
• The position is based on site in San Antonio to support direct collaboration with CIS teams and affiliate leadership.
Scope and Complexity:
• Multiple affiliates and business stakeholders with competing priorities, shared Salesforce environments, integrations, and evolving operational needs.
• Concurrent enhancements, implementations, releases, vendor engagements, and production support dependencies.
• Frequent coordination with affiliate presidents and senior leaders, CIS leadership, architects, developers, business analysts, and external implementation partners.
Key Responsibilities: Portfolio Intake and Prioritization:
• Establish clear intake, triage, scope, priority, ownership, and decision paths for Salesforce requests.
• Partner with CIS leadership and affiliate stakeholders to maintain a transparent portfolio roadmap, including what is committed, deferred, and out of scope.
• Translate priorities into realistic delivery schedules and capacity-aware plans; identify cross-project dependencies and tradeoffs.
• Ensure delivery commitments are established through appropriate business prioritization, technical assessment, and resource capacity planning, with changes to scope or timelines clearly communicated to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Project and Agile Delivery:
• Own project plans, milestones, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and communications from initiation through stabilization. Proactively identify delivery risks, resolve obstacles, and escalate issues requiring leadership decisions before commitments are jeopardized.
• Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, reviews, release readiness, and retrospectives as appropriate to the team’s delivery approach.
• Work with technical leads to confirm requirements, acceptance criteria, estimates, sequencing, and readiness without assuming architecture or engineering ownership.
• Coordinate testing, user acceptance, training, change management, deployment communications, and operational handoffs.
Key Responsibilities: Stakeholder and Vendor Leadership:
• Serve as a primary delivery coordination point for affiliate business leaders, setting clear expectations and communicating decisions, progress, risks, and constraints.
• Lead focused working sessions that turn business needs into actionable work while minimizing unnecessary meetings and technical-team interruptions.
• Coordinate external partners and contractors, validating deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and knowledge transfer.
• Provide concise executive-level reporting that makes decisions and escalations clear.
What Success Looks Like:
• Business and CIS leaders have a shared, current understanding of priorities, delivery commitments, and deferred work.
• Backlogs are actionable, teams have clear ownership, and delivery commitments reflect available capacity.
• Risks and stakeholder misalignment are surfaced early rather than becoming last-minute escalations.
• Releases and handoffs are planned, tested, communicated, and supported with minimal avoidable disruption.
• Architects and developers spend more time delivering solutions and less time managing intake and stakeholder expectations.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of five (5) years of project delivery experience, including demonstrated experience managing Salesforce implementations, enhancements, integrations, or platform releases in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Experience managing concurrent Salesforce projects, competing business priorities, and multiple stakeholder groups in complex enterprise environments.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce platform concepts, including standard/custom objects, flows or automation, permissions, integrations, environments, testing, and release management, sufficient to ask informed questions and identify delivery dependencies.
• Experience leading Agile or hybrid software delivery, including backlog management, sprint planning, requirements coordination, UAT, and production releases.
• Strong executive and business communication, prioritization, facilitation, risk management, and vendor coordination skills.
• Ability to work onsite in San Antonio, Texas, as a regular requirement of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, NPSP, Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, or complex multi-affiliate/shared-tenant environments.
• Experience with Salesforce project management and deployment tools, such as Jira, Gearset, or comparable platforms.
• Experience supporting nonprofit, human services, grant-funded, or government-funded programs.
Work Environment and Expectations:
• Regular onsite presence and direct collaboration with CIS and affiliate leadership in San Antonio.
• Occasional after-hours coordination may be required for major deployments or production incidents.
• High ownership, sound judgment, disciplined execution, and willingness to adapt to shifting business priorities.
• Other duties as assigned.
