Oxford Properties Group is seeking a full-time Analyst or Associate to join its Asset Management team in the New York office. The Associate will work closely with senior team members to drive the performance, execution of business plans, and long-term value creation of a commercial real estate portfolio across major U.S. markets. This role offers significant exposure to the full asset management lifecycle, including business planning, budgeting, performance monitoring, leasing and capital decisions, valuation, financing, and select transaction activity. The Analyst or Associate will collaborate with internal teams across leasing, development, construction, finance, and investments, as well as external operating partners and advisors, to support informed decision-making and maximize investment returns.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Asset Management team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Support the development and execution of asset-level strategies and annual business plans designed to enhance operating performance, mitigate risk, and maximize long-term value.
- Own recurring asset-level reporting, including performance against approved business plans, budget-to-actual variance analysis, KPI tracking, cash flow forecasting, and identification of key risks and opportunities.
- Support annual budgeting and multi-year business-planning processes by coordinating inputs from leasing, property management, development, construction, finance, and other internal and external partners.
- Build, maintain, and review detailed financial models, including cash flow projections, quarterly valuations, return analyses, lease economics, capital expenditure evaluations, sensitivities, and scenario analyses.
- Monitor property and portfolio performance and develop recommendations related to leasing, operating expenses, capital projects, financing, valuation, and other strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate lease proposals, capital expenditures, and asset-level decisions using return, risk, and sensitivity analysis, and clearly communicate findings and recommendations to senior team members.
- Prepare concise, decision-oriented materials for asset reviews, strategic planning discussions, and investment committee consideration.
- Participate in property tours, operating reviews, partner meetings, and other asset-level discussions; document decisions and help drive follow-through on agreed actions.
- Conduct market, property-level, and transaction due diligence, including analysis of property financials, rent rolls, market data, third-party reports, and underlying financial assumptions.
- Support acquisition, financing, refinancing, and disposition processes, including financial analysis, data-room coordination, due diligence, and preparation of internal and external materials.
- Build effective working relationships with joint venture partners, property managers, leasing teams, brokers, consultants, lenders, and other external stakeholders.
- Contribute to broader portfolio strategy and special projects, including research on new markets, sectors, operating trends, and potential value-creation opportunities.
- Take increasing ownership of assigned assets and workstreams, demonstrating sound judgment, attention to detail, and accountability for timely, high-quality execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Two or more years of relevant experience in commercial real estate asset management, acquisitions, investment banking, private equity, development, or a related discipline.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with experience building, maintaining, or reviewing real estate cash flow, valuation, and return models.
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals and key metrics, including net operating income, capitalization rates, leasing economics, debt structures, internal rates of return, and equity multiples.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise materials for senior decision-makers and present analysis clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple assets and workstreams under competing deadlines.
- Proactive, highly motivated, and accountable, with the ability to operate with increasing independence and sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience directly supporting commercial real estate asset management, annual business planning, budgeting, quarterly valuations, and asset-level reporting.
- Proficiency in Argus Enterprise.
- Experience with Yardi, MRI, or a comparable real estate accounting or asset management platform.
- Experience working with joint venture structures, lenders, property managers, and other third-party operating partners.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and build productive relationships across internal teams and external partners.
