Description
Your mission
Looking for an HR role where you can really make a difference?
We are looking for a hands-on HR Business Partner to support our team at Power Minerals Limited in the UK.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for around 50 employees and their managers, with a strong focus on supporting our predominantly blue-collar workforce. Reporting directly to the CEO of Power Minerals Limited, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day HR agenda, covering everything from recruitment and employee relations to training, payroll preparation and general employee lifecycle matters.
At the same time, you will be part of an international HR environment, working closely with the EPPM Group HR & Communications Team and helping to bring Group-wide HR processes and initiatives to life locally.
What you'll be doing:
- Be the local HR contact for employees, managers and local management
- Provide regular on-site HR support at both Goole and the Drax Power Station site, including regular travel between the two locations
- Support managers with employee relations matters, including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance cases
- Coordinate recruitment, selection, offers and onboarding
- Support employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle
- Coordinate local training and development activities
- Provide practical guidance on UK employment law and HR policies
- Prepare and coordinate the monthly payroll input in collaboration with our external payroll provider
- Maintain accurate employee data and documentation and support HR reporting
- Work closely with Group HR on policies, processes, projects and employee communications
Your profile
You are an approachable and pragmatic HR professional who enjoys being close to the business and its people. You are comfortable dealing with day-to-day HR topics independently and know how to find practical solutions while ensuring HR processes are handled professionally and consistently.
Ideally, you bring:
- Several years of HR experience in the UK, for example as an HR Business Partner, HR Advisor or HR Generalist
- Proven experience supporting a predominantly blue-collar workforce, ideally within an industrial, energy or operational environment
- Good practical knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations
- Experience in recruitment, onboarding, training and general HR processes
- Experience preparing payroll input and working with an external payroll provider
- A relevant HR qualification or comparable professional experience
- CIPD qualification or equivalent would be an advantage
- What will help you succeed
- Hands-on, pragmatic and service-oriented
- Approachable and confident when working with employees and managers
- Well organised and able to work independently
- A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential employee matters
- Fluent in English
Why us?
This is an opportunity to take on a broad and varied HR role with real local responsibility. You will be close to employees and the operational business, while at the same time benefiting from the support and exchange of an international Group HR team.
If you enjoy hands-on HR, working with a blue-collar workforce and being the person managers and employees turn to for practical HR support, we would like to hear from you.
