A Typical Shift
You start by reviewing desk communications, confirming coverage needs, and ensuring the lobby area is ready for the day. As activity picks up, you balance multiple priorities-supporting residents and guests with clear, courteous communication while keeping records current and documentation accurate. Throughout the shift, you maintain steady situational awareness, respond calmly to unexpected interruptions, and coordinate promptly with on-site leadership when an issue requires escalation. You also set aside focused time to reconcile daily paperwork, update posted information, and prepare items that keep upcoming schedules and desk operations on track. Before handoff, you verify key notes are captured so the next shift has a clean, informed transition.
