SUMMARY:  The role of the Regional Sr. Manager Projects entails multi-site management of all phases of project(s) activities covering a range of scopes that include studies, multifunctional project execution teams on FEED/Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Commissioning and Project Close-Out. Directs preparation of work plans, supervises project teams, and manages project scope, budget and schedule. This corporate-level position is responsible and manages all aspects of the projects, typically up to $200 million in value either directly (specialized, complex (high-impact) single projects or multiple, but similar type projects). Able to work independently on more varied and complex tasks and/or functional leadership without direct supervision while providing expertise and guidance to the Site project department as needed. Uses sound judgment concerning the need to consult with management and other experts. Day-to-day supervision is administrative and consultative. While accepting responsibility for all phases of the project, recognizes that the various site project department managers have ultimate responsibility when project is assigned as Plant project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develop and implement project execution strategies, plans, and governance processes to support successful project outcomes.
• Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup activities across assigned projects.
• Monitor and manage project scope, cost, schedule, risks, and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Provide leadership and direction to project teams, including workload delegation, performance management, coaching, and employee development.
• Organize and staff project teams to ensure appropriate resources are available to meet project objectives.
• Serve as the primary liaison among internal stakeholders, contractors, site leadership, customers, and senior management.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, resolve issues, and support project success.
• Ensure effective safety, quality, and risk management programs are established and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage contractor and vendor relationships, including contract strategy, negotiations, performance oversight, and project support activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and procedures.
• Prepare and present project status updates, forecasts, recommendations, and key decision points to senior leadership.
• Support construction, commissioning, startup, facility turnover, and project closeout activities.
• Capture and apply lessons learned and remain current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve project execution.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Position may be located in Geismar, LA; Plaquemine, LA; or Calvert City, KY.
• Approximately 35% travel required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Project / Construction Managers and Engineers

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Minimum 15 years of project-related experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or related industry, including at least 5 years of project management leadership experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (i.e., office environment, etc.). Assignments at a project site may include exposure to extreme temperatures, climbing, extensive walking, and working on elevated platforms.  Incumbent may be required to wear personal protective equipment including hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, protective clothing, etc.  Project work may require extensive air and auto travel including international.  Assignments may also require incumbent live abroad for extensive periods at a time.
