POSITION SUMMARY
As a key member of the Retail Excellence team, the Senior Manager Business Risk & Compliance, North Asia is responsible for strengthening operational governance, business risk management and compliance across North Asia, while directly leading the function for Hong Kong Retail and Specialists.
The role partners with Commercial, Retail Operations and Corporate Functions to ensure that Maison policies, operational standards and regulatory requirements are effectively embedded into day-to-day business activities, enabling sustainable business growth while protecting Cartier’s people, assets and reputation.
Through a balanced approach to governance and operational excellence, the role supports the continuous enhancement of boutique operations, commercial processes and transformation initiatives across Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Risk & Governance
- Define and implement the regional Business Risk & Compliance roadmap in alignment with Maison and Regional priorities.
- Promote a culture of integrity, accountability and risk awareness throughout the organization.
- Identify, assess and monitor operational, commercial and reputational risks across the region.
- Maintain regional risk registers and ensure mitigation plans are effectively implemented.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to the Director of Retail Excellence and Regional Leadership.
Retail Operations Excellence & SOP Governance
- Lead the review, optimization and governance of Standard Operating Procedures to balance operational efficiency with compliance requirements.
- Ensure boutiques and Points of Sale consistently operate in accordance with Cartier standards.
- Standardize operational practices across Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
- Continuously improve retail processes while safeguarding governance and internal controls.
- Protect the Maison’s people, assets, property and brand image through disciplined operational execution.
Operations Compliance
- Develop and execute the regional boutique and POS compliance audit programme.
- Conduct operational reviews, stock verification and control testing.
- Review supporting documentation and monitor remediation of audit findings.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Strengthen compliance awareness across boutique teams and reinforce behaviours that protect both employees and Maison assets.
Product & Inventory Compliance
- Partner with International teams and Maison functions to ensure product and inventory compliance throughout the region.
- Monitor inventory governance, stock movements and high-value product controls.
- Support inventory compliance during boutique openings, transfers, renovations and closures.
- Ensure inventory processes remain aligned with Group policies and operational standards.
HR & Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain a sound understanding of local regulatory and compliance requirements across Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
- Partner with Human Resources to ensure full compliance with local legislation and Group policies.
- Support investigations relating to employee complaints, misconduct and policy breaches in boutiques.
- Promote ethical conduct and reinforce Cartier values throughout the organization.
Commercial Governance
- Partner with Commercial and Retail Operations teams to ensure governance over pricing, promotions, commercial approvals and operational processes.
- Provide risk assessments and recommendations for new business initiatives.
- Support omnichannel governance and ensure operational readiness across commercial initiatives.
Project Governance
- Act as the Business Risk & Compliance representative for regional transformation initiatives.
- Coordinate with International Headquarters to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with Maison standards.
- Support cross-functional projects by embedding governance, operational controls and compliance requirements throughout project implementation.
Investigations & Incident Management
- Lead or coordinate investigations involving operational incidents, inventory discrepancies, fraud and policy violations.
- Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Security, Legal and Internal Audit to identify root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Monitor incident trends and recommend preventive measures to reduce future risk exposure.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Develop dashboards and reporting to monitor operational compliance, audit results, inventory accuracy, incident trends and key risk indicators.
- Provide actionable insights to Regional Leadership that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
