Job Description

As a Security Officer - Full Time - Overnights in Rockford, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor site activity, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to the logistics and distribution location by verifying credentials, screening authorized visitors, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, gates, loading areas, and the perimeter, to help identify security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with drivers, employees, visitors, and site personnel while following established protocols for deliveries, restricted areas, and visitor access.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
