Engineering Manager, Care Delivery

Form Health is a virtual obesity medicine clinic delivering multi-disciplinary evidence-based obesity treatment through telemedicine. Obesity impacts more than 40% of the US adult population, and although historically only about 1% of patients received medical treatment for their disease, the field of Obesity Medicine is entering a period of rapid growth. Form Health provides high-quality expert care and leverages technology to enhance the patient experience. All Form Health patients work closely with their care team, which includes board certified physicians, advanced practice professionals and Registered Dietitians. Through our proprietary mobile app patients engage in regular video visits, as well as text messaging, photo journaling, digital data transmission, and customized educational materials. About the Role

Great care depends on great tools. Behind every patient visit is a care team—physicians, advanced practice professionals, and Registered Dietitians—who chart, coordinate, schedule, and manage a longitudinal treatment plan across thousands of patients. The Care Delivery team owns the systems that make that work possible: clinical charting, scheduling, task management, care coordination, operational tooling, and workflow automation.

We're hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead Care Delivery in building these business-critical clinical and operational systems. You'll combine strong people leadership with technical depth, guiding engineers who work on complex, safety-sensitive backend services, workflows, and integrations—shipping systems that are reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable, because the care team depends on them every hour of every day.

We're also an AI-native engineering org, and we expect this leader to operate as a manager of agents—fluent in agentic software delivery with tools like Claude Code as a core part of the workflow—alongside the fundamentals that make small teams fast and safe: small-batch continuous delivery, feature flags, strong CI, and tight feedback loops. You should already practice these things and be eager to coach them into the team.

This role reports to our VP of Engineering and partners closely with product, clinical, and operational leaders to translate evolving care needs into scalable software. Fully remote, open to candidates anywhere in the US.

What You Will Do

Team Leadership & Execution

• Lead, coach, and grow a small team delivering business-critical clinical and operational systems
• Establish clear goals and execution plans aligned with product and company priorities
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Provide direct feedback, mentorship, and career development for engineers at multiple levels
• Raise the technical and delivery bar through pairing, code review, and hands-on coaching
• Hire thoughtfully to strengthen team capability and long-term scalability

Technical Leadership

• Guide architectural decisions for backend services, workflows, integrations, and internal tools
• Partner with senior engineers to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and maintainable
• Maintain strong technical fluency across Ruby on Rails, Node.js, React/Next.js, and AWS-based infrastructure
• Ensure healthy CI/CD pipelines and safe deployment practices for a regulated healthcare environment
• Champion small-batch, continuous delivery—small PRs, short-lived branches, feature flags, tight feedback loops
• Use DORA metrics and other delivery signals to continuously raise the team's throughput and stability
• Identify technical risks early and lead mitigation before they impact care delivery

Clinical Workflow & Intelligent Systems

• Oversee systems supporting clinical charting, scheduling, task management, care coordination, and workflow automation
• Ensure systems handle patient data safely within HIPAA and broader healthcare regulatory requirements
• Support thoughtful integration of automation and AI where appropriate, always prioritizing human oversight and patient safety

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner with product, clinical, and operations leaders to define roadmaps and translate evolving requirements into clear engineering plans
• Provide structure and clarity in ambiguous problem spaces
• Balance speed of delivery with operational reliability and long-term platform health

About You

You're an experienced engineering leader who blends hands-on technical depth with strong people leadership. You bring:

• 5+ years managing engineering teams, with prior experience as a senior or staff-level engineer
• A track record leading delivery of complex backend or workflow-heavy systems in production, in fast-moving or high-growth environments
• Experience instilling delivery fundamentals—small-batch delivery, feature flags, testing, operational excellence—and coaching teams to adopt them
• Hands-on fluency with agentic, AI-native development (e.g., Claude Code)—you practice it yourself and can model and coach it into a team
• Strong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A plus, not required: experience in healthcare, clinical systems, workflow tooling, AI-enabled products, or other regulated domains
