The Digital Health Transformation & Innovation (DTHI) organization is establishing, in collaboration with the Go-to-Market team, a comprehensive collaboration framework to accelerate innovation, evidence generation, and real-world adoption.
The Collaboration Lead – Digital Health Collaborations plays a central role in operationalizing and scaling this framework. The role ensures that collaborations are effectively scoped, executed, and monitored—driving impact for customers and Roche, while accelerating innovation and adoption of AI-enabled digital health solutions in real-world settings.
The Role
Drives the end-to-end orchestration of digital health collaborations from a framework and headquarters perspective across all collaboration categories, in close partnership with in-country and regional digital business managers who are accountable for customer success.
Drives scoping, alignment, and execution monitoring of collaboration programs across internal and external stakeholders
Acts as a central integrator across Go-to-Market, Data Science, Evidence, Medical, and other engaged teams across Roche Information Solutions (RIS) & Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS), and Roche Pharma
Ensures collaborations deliver measurable outcomes in innovation, evidence generation, adoption, and value realization
Coordinates activities of collaboration managers supporting specific programs without direct line management responsibility
Serves as a key operational partner to DTHI & GTM leadership in scaling the collaboration model globally, including supporting contracting and compliance alignment to enable scalable and compliant collaboration execution
Duties
Collaboration Strategy Execution & Program Orchestration
Translate the Digital Health Collaboration Framework into actionable programs
Support the definition of collaboration scope, objectives, and success metrics aligned with product and strategic priorities through setting up and leading multi-disciplinary collaboration squads
Ensure alignment between customer needs, Roche capabilities, and internal priorities
Drive structured program planning, including resource alignment, timelines, and deliverables
Provide functional leadership to other collaboration leads, coordinating activities, aligning priorities, and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic partnership objectives through coaching, mentorship, and influence.
Scoping & Opportunity Development
Collaborate with GTM, R&D teams (e.g. Data Science, Engineering, Medical, UX, HFE, AI), regional teams, and customer stakeholders to identify and shape collaboration opportunities
Support the development of program scope definitions, project proposals, and initial business cases
Ensure feasibility across technical, clinical, operational, and data dimensions
Contribute to prioritization and selection of collaboration sites and programs
Collaborate with local affiliates, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure early alignment on contractual, regulatory, and operational requirements, enabling efficient progression from scoping to contracting
Contracting & Compliance Coordination
Support the transition from scoped collaboration programs into formalized agreements and contracts
Coordinate with local affiliates, Legal, Compliance, and relevant internal stakeholders to drive alignment on contractual frameworks
Ensure collaboration structures are compliant with data privacy, regulatory, finance, and operational requirements
Facilitate timely resolution of contractual questions, dependencies, and approval processes
Support consistency and reuse of standardized contracting approaches and templates where applicable
Execution Monitoring & Delivery Oversight
Monitor execution of collaboration programs across sites and functions
Drive the selection and adoption of AI-enabled tools to increasingly automate repetitive tasks (e.g., by building a knowledge base, guardrails, and an agentic AI solution for collaboration mgmt)
Ensure progress against defined milestones, KPIs, and success metrics
Identify risks, bottlenecks, and misalignments, and drive resolution across stakeholders
Ensure continuous alignment between customer expectations and internal delivery, and structured reviews with the collaboration partner (e.g. steering committee meetings)
Ensure contractual agreements are operationalized effectively, with clear alignment between agreed scope, deliverables, and execution
Cross-functional Coordination
Act as a central interface across GTM, Data Science, Evidence, Medical, UX, and other relevant teams
Ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability across functions while leveraging agile principles
Facilitate effective communication and decision-making across global, regional and local teams
Support alignment between product roadmaps and collaboration activities
Collaboration Governance & Framework Enablement
Support implementation and continuous improvement of collaboration governance models and processes
Ensure adherence to defined frameworks (e.g., scoping, contracting, execution, reporting)
Ensure the financial health of strategic collaborations through rigorous cost evaluation, ongoing budget and resource monitoring, proactive escalation of emerging financial risks, and leadership of cross-functional efforts to resolve funding and commercial issues.
Contribute to the development of standardized tools, templates, and best practices
Support tracking and reporting of portfolio-level performance and impact
Adoption, Impact & Value Realization
Ensure collaborations are designed to drive real-world adoption of digital and AI-enabled solutions
Support definition (and tracking) of clinical, operational, and economic impact metrics
Enable the generation of reference stories, evidence, and thought leadership outputs
External Stakeholder Engagement
Lead executive engagement and strategic partnerships with customer stakeholders, including senior clinical leaders, C-suite executives, and board-level sponsors.
Contribute to building trusted, long-term partnerships with strategic institutions
Ensure professional and structured interaction across all collaboration phases
Skills
Strong experience in collaboration management, program management, or strategic partnerships in healthcare or digital health
Solid understanding of digital health solutions, AI-enabled products, and healthcare transformation
Ability to operate across multiple stakeholders and complex, matrixed environments
Strong capability in structuring programs, defining scopes, and driving execution
Experience in cross-functional collaboration across product, data science, medical, and commercial teams
Understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare systems, and adoption dynamics
Ability to connect clinical, technical, and business perspectives
Understanding of contracting processes, legal/compliance considerations, and collaboration governance
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity and structure
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Education & Experience
Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, MD, PhD, or equivalent) and/or significant executive experience leading strategic collaborations, partnerships, or alliance management initiatives.
7–10 years of experience in healthcare, life sciences, consulting, or digital health
Experience in program management, partnerships, or transformation initiatives
Experience leading cross-functional teams in global environments
Experience in customer-facing or external collaboration roles
Experience with digital health, healthcare IT, or AI-enabled solutions (preferred)
Locations
You can be based at one of the main RIS sites in Sant Cugat (Spain) or Vienna (Austria). At the Company’s discretion, an exception to the location requirement could be made under extraordinary circumstances.
As this is a global role, international business travel will be required depending on business needs and project activities.
In Austria, we have a legal obligation to disclose the minimum salary according to our collective agreement, which is gross EUR 3.843 - per month for this position. But! Rest assured, we offer amazing competitive compensation packages which take into consideration current market trends, therefore you can expect a higher offer that reflects your experience level.
