POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Maintenance Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance Supervisor leads the maintenance team in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role is responsible for maximizing equipment uptime through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Supervisor oversees electrical, mechanical, controls, and facilities maintenance activities, coordinates work priorities across shifts, and ensures maintenance resources are aligned with production goals. This position also promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence while supporting the organization’s manufacturing objectives.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
· Lead daily maintenance activities, prioritize work, and coordinate support across 1st shift and as-needed 2nd shift coverage
· Supervise and develop maintenance technicians; oversee janitorial/facilities staff to maintain site standards
· Troubleshoot and repair production equipment including CNC routers, press brake, saws, and laser equipment
· Support electrical systems and controls (motor controls, sensors, safety circuits, VFDs; basic PLC/HMI fault recovery)
· Drive PM execution and reliability improvements; reduce repeat failures using root cause analysis
· Manage work orders, PMs, and parts tracking in MaintainX
· Coordinate vendors/contractors, critical spares, and maintenance cost control
· Enforce safety practices including LOTO and machine guarding
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience (mechanical + electrical)
· 2+ years of team lead/supervisory experience (or equivalent leadership responsibility)
· Strong troubleshooting skills; ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
· CMMS experience required (MaintainX preferred)
· Strong communication, prioritization, and safety leadership
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
· Must be able to stand/ walk for 8-10 hours per day.
· Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
· Must be able to work in an area that is not climate controlled in the summer months.
