Full Stack Engineer 0807-5

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, secure and operate enterprise-grade digital products on Microsoft Azure. This is an AI-enabled engineering role where the successful candidate is expected to be familiar with modern AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT or equivalent, and able to use them responsibly to improve coding productivity, technical problem-solving, test generation, documentation and delivery quality. This role sits within the Platform & Software Engineering Division and will contribute to Clients' Digital Factory Platform by developing modern cloud-native applications, reusable engineering patterns and AI-enabled solutions that can move from concept to production with speed, quality and accountability.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade full stack applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React with TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Build secure, scalable and maintainable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Python, FastAPI or equivalent frameworks, with strong RESTful API and microservices design practices.
• Develop and integrate cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services including App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Design and implement data access patterns using SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimisation, ORM frameworks and secure data handling practices.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions to automate build, test, security scanning, deployment and release processes.
• Apply DevSecOps practices across the software delivery lifecycle, including secrets management, vulnerability management, secure coding, automated testing and compliance checks.
• Use Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep or Terraform to support repeatable environment provisioning and application deployment.
• Containerise and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes, including Azure Kubernetes Service where appropriate.
• Integrate AI capabilities into applications using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI or related Copilot services where there are clear business use cases.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT or equivalent coding assistants to improve engineering productivity, code quality, documentation and solution exploration while applying appropriate human review and security judgement.
• Participate in technical design, architecture reviews and integration planning to ensure solutions are secure, reliable, scalable and maintainable.
• Support production operations through troubleshooting, performance optimisation, observability, monitoring, alerting and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with product owners, business users, platform engineers, security teams and delivery stakeholders in Agile product delivery teams.
• Document technical designs, engineering decisions, reusable patterns and operational procedures to improve maintainability and knowledge sharing. 

Required Skills and Experience:

•  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on software development experience, with demonstrated ownership of enterprise-grade application design, delivery and production operations.
• Proven experience designing, developing and deploying enterprise-grade applications using modern frontend and backend technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript, with working knowledge of Angular or Vue.js as an advantage.
• Strong backend development experience using Java and/or Python, including frameworks such as Spring Boot, FastAPI, Flask, Django or equivalent, with experience building REST APIs and microservices.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure services in a production environment.
• Experience delivering cloud-native applications using Azure PaaS and serverless services, including App Service, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage and Key Vault.
• Experience implementing authentication, authorisation and identity integration using Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, RBAC and secure access patterns.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise and/or GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT or equivalent, including practical use for coding, refactoring, test generation, documentation and technical problem-solving.
• Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, Terraform or equivalent tools.
• Experience with Docker, containerised application delivery and Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Experience applying secure application development practices, including secrets management, security scanning, vulnerability management and secure configuration.
• Experience working within Agile product delivery teams and collaborating across business, product, engineering, security and operations stakeholders.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, performance optimisation and production support skills.
• Ability to translate business and product needs into practical technical designs, architecture options and implementation plans.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience operating within Singapore Government Commercial Cloud or other regulated enterprise environments.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI or Copilot services.
•  Familiarity with modern AI engineering and developer productivity tools, including GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI or similar platforms.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls, including RBAC, managed identities, secrets management, network controls and secure service-to-service communication.
•  Experience with platform engineering, developer platforms, internal developer portals or reusable engineering templates.
•  Experience with event-driven architecture using Azure Service Bus, Event Grid or equivalent messaging platforms.
• Familiarity with domain-driven design, system integration patterns and microservices architecture.
•  Exposure to observability practices using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, dashboards, logs, traces and application health metrics.
• Exposure to tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Copilot or other modern engineering productivity tools.
