Position Summary:

The Scheduler is a core member of Priority Power's Project Controls organization, led by Director of Project Controls. Reporting to a Project Controls Director, the Scheduler builds, maintains, and analyzes project schedules across Priority Power's active engineering and construction portfolio, utility-class transmission, substation, distribution, and microgrid projects delivered for large industrial and commercial customers across markets including oil and gas, hyperscale data centers, crypto mining facilities, green hydrogen, and other power-intensive industries.

Project Insight is Priority Power's project management platform of record for schedule, risk, change, forecast, and contract compliance, the single source Project Managers and Portfolio Managers work from day to day. The Scheduler builds and maintains schedules to Project Controls' standards inside Project Insight (using Microsoft Project) and is central to keeping that system trustworthy: reliable baselines, early risk identification, and clear schedule status for project teams and leadership alike.

This position can be based in Priority Power's Houston Texas office (Hybrid) and will be expected to travel up to 15% of the time to other Priority Power offices, customer meetings, and project site visits, including active construction sites, where appropriate PPE is required.

The Scheduler works closely with Development Managers, Project Managers, Portfolio Managers, Project Engineering, Procurement, and the Construction Manager and field construction teams to develop and maintain accurate, resource-loaded project schedules that reflect real field conditions and vendor delivery commitments.

Position Responsibilities:

• Build, baseline, and maintain detailed project schedules for engineering and construction activities in Project Insight, using Microsoft Project.
• Review schedule quality - logic, dates, and WBS tie - against Project Controls standards, and work with Project Managers to correct issues before baseline approval.
• Produce 4-week look-ahead schedules and critical-path reports on Project Controls' standard weekly cycle.
• Prepare milestone reports tracking baseline vs. forecast completion, and calculate Schedule Performance Index (SPI) where meaningful.
• Perform schedule analysis including float analysis and what-if scenario modeling to support proactive project management.
• Escalate significant schedule risk to the Project Controls Manager, Portfolio Manager, and Senior Director of Project Management through the Weekly Project Review and Weekly Portfolio Review cadence.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and field supervisors to gather schedule inputs and validate reported progress against actual field conditions.
• Maintain schedule change control - track schedule change requests, document impacts, and update baselines upon approval - consistent with Project Controls' change management process.
• Integrate engineering deliverable milestones and Procurement-supplied vendor delivery milestones (PO release, vendor acknowledgment, drawing approval, manufacturing, FAT, shipping, required-on-site date) into master project schedules; Procurement remains the sole entry point for vendor-side dates.
• Support development of project schedules during the proposal and pre-construction phases, including preliminary sequencing and milestone identification.
• Monitor subcontractor schedule submittals and ensure alignment with the overall project master schedule.
• Support Project Insight data quality and system administration within Project Controls' ownership of the platform.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of scheduling standards, templates, and best practices across the Project Controls function.
• Prepare and distribute regular schedule status reports, look-aheads, and schedule narratives for internal and customer-facing use.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of scheduling experience on engineering and/or construction projects, preferably in the electrical utility or energy infrastructure sector.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project required; experience with a cloud-based project management platform (e.g., Project Insight) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of CPM (Critical Path Method) scheduling principles and Earned Value Management concepts (SPI/CPI).
• Experience scheduling electrical infrastructure projects - substations, transmission, and distribution - preferred; knowledge of energy storage technologies is beneficial.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, for schedule data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present schedule data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter, capable of operating with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work within a cross-functional team environment spanning project management, engineering, procurement, and construction.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent project schedules and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% of the time, including to active construction sites.
