Operations Supervisor

About the role

Team Global Express is seeking a PM Operations Supervisor to join our team based at Hobart Airport, Cambridge. This is a Full Time Permanent Position, where you'll work closely with drivers, dockhands and the wider operational team to coordinate daily activities, address operational challenges, maximise resource utilisation and ensure service commitments are delivered safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading daily PUD operations to ensure freight is collected, processed and delivered safely and on time
• Coordinating drivers, vehicles, forklift operators and labour resources to meet operational and customer requirements
• Monitoring service performance, productivity and DIFOT outcomes while identifying opportunities for improvement
• Supporting route execution, fleet utilisation and labour planning to maximise operational efficiency
• Providing frontline leadership, coaching and performance support to operational team members
• Managing day-to-day operational challenges and making timely decisions to maintain service outcomes
• Ensuring compliance with company procedures, Chain of Responsibility obligations and WHS requirements
• Conducting safety conversations, toolbox talks and operational briefings with team members
• Working collaboratively with customers, drivers and internal stakeholders to resolve service issues and deliver positive outcomes
• Driving a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement and customer focus

What you'll bring

• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a transport, freight, logistics or distribution environment
• Strong understanding of pick-up and delivery operations and the challenges of managing time-critical freight movements
• Experience leading operational teams including drivers, forklift operators, freight handlers or warehouse employees
• Sound knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, workplace health and safety requirements and operational compliance obligations
• Ability to coordinate labour, fleet and equipment resources to meet daily service requirements
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and make effective operational decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across operational teams
• Experience monitoring operational performance, service levels and productivity KPIs
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement practical operational improvements
• Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems

• Experience within a parcel, general freight or transport network operation
• Exposure to fleet scheduling, route planning or transport coordination activities
• Qualifications in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport or a related discipline
