Technology Director - Liquidity Management

Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director to lead the strategy, delivery, modernization, stability, and security of technology platforms supporting Global Payments & Liquidity products and services.

 

The Technology Director will define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap for Liquidity Management platforms, aligning technology investments with business, product, and modernization priorities. This leader will oversee large-scale delivery across Cash Concentration, Liquidity Management, Virtual Account Management, and Notional Pooling, while modernizing legacy platforms through cloud, API-first, event-driven, microservices, and AI-enabled engineering practices. The role will partner with senior business, product, and technology leaders to improve speed-to-market and deliver scalable solutions, while ensuring strong technology risk, cybersecurity, resiliency, and regulatory controls. The Technology Director will also build and develop high-performing engineering teams and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, engineering excellence, and customer focus. This leader will drive the technology roadmap for Liquidity Management, aligning solutions with business priorities, regulatory requirements, operational resiliency, and enterprise standards. The role will partner across Product, Operations, Risk, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Data, and Technology to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative solutions for corporate, commercial, and institutional clients.

 

In this role, you will:

• Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
• Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
• Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders
• Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans
• Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices
• Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
• Identify financial management and strategic resourcing
• Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
• Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent
• Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation
• Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
• Lead team to achieve objectives
• Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
• Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
• Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

 

Required Qualifications 

• 10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 5+ years of management or leadership experience
• 5+ years of experience leading technology teams or large-scale engineering organizations
• 5+ years of experience delivering large-scale technology modernization initiatives

 

Desired Qualifications 

• Experience supporting Treasury, Payments, Liquidity, Commercial Banking, or Transaction Banking technology
• Experience with commercial banking products and services.
• Experience with liquidity and cash management platforms
• Experience with enterprise architecture and technology modernization
• Experience with cloud technologies
• Experience with data architecture, integration architecture, APIs, or distributed systems
• Experience operating in a regulated financial-services environment with responsibility for technology risk, controls, or regulatory requirements

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. $215,000.00 - $355,000.00
