Job Description:

The Wang Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying plant growth regulation and stress responses. The position will focus on understanding how kinase signaling and related cellular processes, including autophagy and stress granule dynamics, regulate plant adaptation to environmental stresses. The successful candidate will use a combination of molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, advanced imaging, and multi-omics approaches to investigate regulatory networks at the molecular and cellular levels.

Duties Include:
55% Research and Experimental Investigation: Design and conduct independent research to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying plant growth regulation and responses to environmental stresses, with emphasis on kinase signaling and related cellular processes including autophagy and stress granules. Perform molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and cell biology experiments using plant model systems, including Arabidopsis and Nicotiana.

20% Data Generation, Analysis, and Interpretation: Apply advanced imaging, microscopy, and multi-omics approaches as appropriate; analyze, interpret, and integrate experimental data; maintain accurate research records; troubleshoot experiments and develop new approaches as needed.

10% Manuscripts and Scientific Communication: Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication and present research findings at laboratory meetings, scientific conferences, and other professional venues.

10% Research Planning and Grant Support: Review scientific literature, contribute to the development of research directions, and assist with preparation of research proposals and grant applications.

5% Laboratory Collaboration, Mentoring, and Operations: Collaborate with laboratory members and research partners; provide technical guidance and research mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students as appropriate; contribute to laboratory organization, maintenance of research materials and equipment, compliance with laboratory safety requirements, and other research-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Plant Biology, Plant Science, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field

Specific Experience in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, or related areas. Demonstrated ability to conduct scientific research, analyze and interpret experimental data, and communicate research findings effectively.
