At CAAT, we’re passionate about what we do. And it shows!

Here, you’ll find a cultural spark in everything we do – from the way we partner with members and employers, to the way we work, collaborate, and grow. It doesn’t just feel different at CAAT. It is different. We’re one of the fastest-growing pensions in the country for a reason. We challenge the status quo, making a real impact on the hundreds of employers we serve – from education institutions to major corporations and household brands. And we’re just getting started. Driven by core values and a shared purpose, we’re fierce champions for better retirement security, known for our can-do culture where everyone plays a role in bringing our vision to life. If this sounds like a fit, we’d love you to be a part of it.

About the Role:

We are seeking an Analyst, Investment Risk and Analytics for our Finance team.  Reporting to the Manager, the Analyst will provide valuable analytics and risk reporting to support investment decision-making. This high-impact position requires a self-motivated, critical thinker who can integrate technology, financial market knowledge, and quantitative techniques to deliver insightful analysis. The successful incumbent will measure and analyze investment risk at the total plan level.

As the Newest Member of our Team, You’ll:

  • Utilize programming skills to develop and maintain tools for investment risk analysis (e.g., stress testing, active risk, value at risk, liquidity risk).

  • Manage and validate holdings and market data used in analytical models, including tracking new investment mandates and backfilling gaps.

  • Collaborate with the Finance and Investments teams to ensure data accuracy.

  • Streamline/automate data management workflows and reporting processes where possible.

  • Conduct research to improve and expand analytical capabilities.

  • Extract and communicate meaningful insights from data.

  • Monitor financial market developments and apply them to risk analysis.

  • Support exploratory or cross-functional projects that align with organizational goals.

To Succeed, You Bring:

  • 0 - 2 years of work experience in a financial risk modelling or investment management-related function at an asset owner (e.g. pension fund, endowment) or other financial institution.

  • A post-secondary education from an accredited institution in finance, math, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics or other related disciplines.

  • Pursuing the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), FRM (Financial Risk Management), or other related designations is considered a strong asset.

  • Strong foundational understanding of different financial instruments (including derivatives), asset classes, and investment strategies.

  • Experience with investment risk measurement concepts (VaR, SaR, active risk, shortfall risk) and applied quantitative techniques (regression, simulation, optimization).

  • Hands-on experience with a high-level programming language, preferably Python.

  • Familiarity with Git, VS Code, and basic programming best practices is a plus.

  • Ability to think big picture and understand the broader investment decision-making context, beyond just producing the numbers.

  •  High attention to detail, rigorous problem-solving, and a strong work ethic to thrive in performance-driven settings, consistently demonstrating initiative and independent thinking.

  • Communicate complex topics clearly through strong written and verbal skills, collaborate effectively in team environments, and remain adaptable while comfortably navigating change in a dynamic, evolving investment landscape.

At CAAT, we believe innovation, passion, and purpose are ingredients for a great work environment. We’re incredibly proud of our people and the remarkable impact they have as catalysts for change. We’re committed to attracting and keeping great talent, which means competitive compensation, exceptional benefits, and an environment where people can grow and thrive. When you work with CAAT, you’ll enjoy:
