Schedule: Monday - Friday | 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring a Full-Time Unarmed Security Officer to provide security services at a healthcare facility in Grand Junction. This position focuses on maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff through proactive patrols, professional customer service, and timely incident reporting.

The successful candidate will spend much of each shift conducting patrols throughout multiple buildings while remaining alert to safety concerns and responding professionally to situations that require assistance or de-escalation.

Primary Responsibilities

Facility Patrol

• Conduct continuous interior and exterior foot patrols throughout assigned buildings and surrounding property.
• Monitor entrances, hallways, parking areas, and common spaces for unusual activity or safety concerns.
• Help maintain a secure and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
• Report hazards, maintenance issues, or policy violations to the appropriate contacts.

Safety & Security

• Respond appropriately to security-related incidents following established procedures.
• Assist with conflict prevention using professional communication and de-escalation techniques.
• Observe and report suspicious behavior or unauthorized activity.
• Support emergency response efforts when requested by hospital leadership or emergency personnel.

Documentation

• Complete accurate hourly activity reports and incident documentation.
• Maintain clear records of patrol activities, observations, and security concerns.
• Utilize CCTV systems and other security technology as required.
• Communicate important information to supervisors before the end of each shift.

Professional Service

• Deliver courteous customer service during every interaction.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing Citadel Security USA.
• Follow all client policies, security procedures, and post instructions.
• Protect confidential information while exercising sound judgment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to perform continuous walking patrols throughout the workday.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Successful completion of all required background screening.

Required Training & Onboarding Client

Selected candidates must successfully complete client-specific onboarding requirements, which include:

• New Hire Orientation
• ACT Training
• Taser Training
• Respiratory mask fit testing
• CCTV training
• Current vaccination documentation meeting Community Hospital requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in healthcare, security, customer service, or a related field.
• Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience preparing detailed incident reports.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of situational awareness.
