Role Overview 

The Treasury Administrator plays an important role within the Treasury Team, supporting the effective administration of client bank accounts and ensuring that banking processes are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timescales. 

Working within a busy operational environment, the role involves processing a range of banking transactions and reconciliations relating to clients’ Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs), while also supporting internal teams with banking-related queries. 

The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working to tight deadlines, with a strong focus on accuracy, risk awareness and customer service. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Reconcile client bank accounts accurately and within agreed timescales. 

  • Ensure all client money received is identified and matched promptly. 

  • Create Direct Debits to collect funds from external bank accounts and issue the appropriate correspondence. 

  • Process payments across various banking systems. 

  • Process and bank cheques. 

  • Input new client bank account details accurately onto internal systems. 

  • Process monthly and account-closing interest. 

  • Close client bank accounts in accordance with established procedures. 

  • Create and process Bulk Direct Debit instructions. 

  • Process fee sweeps and refunds. 

  • Cancel standing orders as required. 

  • Process HMRC prefunded tax reclaim requests. 

  • Monitor and manage the team mailbox, ensuring queries and requests are dealt with promptly. 

  • Complete Direct Debit reconciliations. 

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments and key stakeholders. 

  • Ensure all internal service levels and deadlines are consistently met. 

  • Escalate issues, delays and exceptions to the Team Manager where appropriate. 

  • Proactively identify potential risks or control issues within the department and escalate concerns appropriately. 

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Treasury processes and ways of working. 

  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures, regulatory requirements and relevant controls. 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

Essential 

  • Previous experience working within a banking, financial services or pensions environment. 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use formulas, manipulate and analyse data and perform data checks and reconciliations. 

  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to maintain a high level of accuracy. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively. 

  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and agreed service levels. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. 

  • A proactive approach to identifying issues, risks and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
