What you’ll do

We are hiring a motivated Business Intelligence expert to join the global Business Intelligence (BIC) team to support our Global Aerospace and Defense, Aviation (AD&A) Industry Practice. The BIC Team provides insight and analysis through research, market and competitor intelligence, pitch support, prospect identification and account management for our industries, communities, and geographies. Our mission is to partner with our consultants in delivering insights and analysis to support in winning new business and delivering memorable results. The BIC AD&A Business Intelligence Specialist role works closely with our senior practice leaders of the Global AD&A Practice and BIC Leadership Team. Industry practice covers commercial aerospace and defense OEMs, their customers and supply chain, airlines and their ecosystem, and PE investors in the AD&A Aviation sector.

We are seeking candidates with strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills who have an interest in the Aerospace & Defense sector. The ideal candidate demonstrates curiosity, learning agility, and the ability to quickly develop expertise in new industries and topics. Candidates will want to work in a global, fast-moving, dynamic team collaborating with experts in the sector. Words used to describe the role: analytical, creative, bias towards action, innovative, proactive, attention to detail.

The Business Intelligence Specialist is a full-time role located in Southfield, MI, Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, or New York, NY, and reports to the Business Intelligence Center Leadership in close partnership with Global AD&A Practice Leadership. Paid relocation is not available for this position.

• Conduct research and analysis to support the AD&A Industry Team business development priorities
  • Anticipate and analyze the impact of changing business, economic, legal, and industry issues on companies in the sector
  • Support research, market intelligence, competitor intelligence, and business development activities across AD&A and other industry practices and service lines as needed.
  • Conduct financial, situation and performance analyses and research by identifying best sources for industry data
  • Support teams in the development of insightful proposals for new business opportunities
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination delivering high-quality research to AD&A Industry Team.
• Support broader BIC research, market intelligence, competitor intelligence, and business development initiatives across practices as needed.
• Leverage AI, data, and analytics tools to improve research efficiency, insight generation, and knowledge development.

What you’ll bring  

• One (1) year of professional experience preferred in research, analytics, strategy, business intelligence, consulting, professional services, or a related field.
• Undergraduate degree with preference for a financial concentration. 
• Financial acumen and ability to analyze company performance gained through undergraduate studies or work. 
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate analysis into clear insights and recommendations that inform decision-making.
• Experience using AI tools to support research, information synthesis, analysis, academic projects, internships, or professional work, with a demonstrated willingness to continue developing these capabilities.
• Proficient Excel, PowerPoint, and research database skills are critical. Experience in data management (SQL), visualization (Power BI, Tableau), and programming skills are differentiating skills, but not required.
• Experience with Bloomberg and other platforms highly preferred.
• Ability to deliver accurate, timely work with professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Adept at multi-tasking with demonstrated organizational skills and in managing individual priorities and adapting to changing needs with minimum guidance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and executive-ready messaging. French and/or German language skills are a plus
• Demonstrated learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to quickly develop expertise in new industries, business topics, and technologies.
• Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, inclusion, and professionalism, fostering productive working relationships.
• Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
• Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

Employees will also receive a generous paid leave policy including vacation/personal time starting at 5.67 hours per pay period, sick time up to 80 hours annually, parental leave, and twelve holidays.  

The hourly range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $32/hr. - $40/hr. with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
