Chatham County Human Resources (HR) has a fall internship available for an undergraduate or graduate student in HR Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or other closely related fields. - Complete projects for the Talent Management, Benefits, or the Compensation and Compliance & Workforce Development teams.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, training, benefits, compensation, and workforce development projects.
- Support HR staff with data collection, data entry, reporting, research, and preparation of presentations and informational materials.
- Assist with maintaining accurate employee records, HR databases, forms, and other departmental documentation.
- Participate in recruitment events, employee programs, training sessions, meetings, and other HR activities.
- Assist with projects designed to improve HR processes, employee services, and organizational effectiveness.
- Conduct research on human resources practices, policies, workforce trends, and related topics.
- Support the development and distribution of employee communications and training materials.
- Assist with benefits and compensation-related projects and administrative activities.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to employees and applicants while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Complete online and in-person training activities.
- Perform other related duties and special projects assigned.
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program or a recent college graduate within the past year in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Sociology, Cultural Anthropology, or a closely related field.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
