POSITION SUMMARY:
The Valve Technician is responsible for the preparation, organization, and routing of items to NDE or phosphate, or to be assembled, tested, stored, or shipped.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Load and unload non-destructive exam rack.
- Palletize all pieces coming off non-destructive exam, tag the pallets, and place them on the appropriate shelf.
- Operate forklift to load and unload supplies.
- Locate items from the schedule to be prepped for assembly.
- Aid in assembly and testing of large valve assemblies (may require coming in early and/or staying late).
- Paint valves/IBOPs prior to storage or shipping.
- Palletize and label tested tools on the shelf for storage.
- Pull orders to be shipped.
- Keep work areas and tools clean and safe.
- Phosphate product as per Work Instructions when required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year of valve technician experience preferred.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
- Must be able to operate forklift.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have ability to multi-task.
- Must be detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Environment: Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor shop environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
Physical: Primary functions require physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to infrequently climb on ladders or stairs; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe shoes and safety glasses, must be worn at all times while in the shop.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
All employees are to be indoctrinated in the QMS within sixty (60) days of hire.
