The Opportunity:
As the Marketing Data and Insights Analyst, you will collect, integrate, analyze, and interpret data across digital marketing, paid media, web, social media, media relations, enrollment and institutional data sources. You will be responsible for developing executive dashboards, automated reporting, and data visualizations while translating complex datasets into actionable insights that improve marketing effectiveness, audience engagement, brand awareness, enrollment outcomes, and organizational performance.
This role partners closely with communications, marketing, enrollment, web, creative, social media, agency partners, information technology and institutional research teams to establish measurement frameworks, identify emerging trends, optimize campaigns, improve content discoverability through SEO and AI search, and recommend data-driven strategies that maximize impact across university marketing initiatives.
Additional Information:
This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $5,376 to $7,224 (Steps A-M) | Range 56 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Marketing, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field, including college level coursework in statistics and/or mathematics AND two (2) years of experience working as a Data Consultant 2 or equivalent; OR equivalent education/experience.
Three years of professional experience in marketing analytics, business intelligence, institutional research, communications analytics, digital analytics, or a related analytical field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Demonstrated experience analyzing digital performance across platforms such as Google Analytics, CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and social media channels.
Experience building dashboards and reports using data visualization and business intelligence tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to translate complex data, research findings, and market trends into clear, concise narratives for executive leaders, WSU communicators, and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across a variety of stakeholder groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with user research.
Experience with Python, R, or other analytical tools.
Experience evaluating the impact of AI-powered search and content discovery platforms.
Experience in higher education, nonprofit, agency, media, marketing or other complex mission-driven organizations
Knowledge of data governance principles, privacy standards, and responsible data stewardship.
Familiarity with FERPA and other applicable privacy regulations.
