Chief of Staff, Office of the COO
Position Overview
Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a highly motivated, and execution-oriented Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer. This individual will serve as a trusted right-hand partner to the COO, helping translate strategic priorities into action and driving execution, accountability, and alignment across the organization.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role at the intersection of strategy, operations, analytics, and leadership. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver and project leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, operates effectively with autonomy, and knows how to move complex initiatives forward across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the COO to drive execution of key strategic and operational priorities
- Translate high-level objectives into clear action plans, owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes
- Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across corporate departments, facilities, and leadership teams
- Track key commitments and deliverables, drive accountability, and proactively identify risks or roadblocks
- Manage the flow of priorities, information, and decisions within the Office of the COO
- Analyze complex business and operational issues and develop concise, data-driven recommendations
- Prepare executive communications, presentations, strategic updates, leadership materials, and stakeholder briefings
- Facilitate executive meetings, strategic planning sessions, operating reviews, and cross-functional working groups
- Establish effective agendas, decision logs, and follow-up processes to ensure initiatives continue moving forward
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, organizational structures, processes, and operational effectiveness
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards and performance reporting across operational, clinical, and financial areas
- Conduct root-cause analysis of operational challenges and partner with leaders to implement solutions
- Build strong relationships with corporate and facility leadership and gather frontline insights to inform organizational initiatives
- Travel to facilities as needed to understand operations firsthand and support key priorities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5-8+ years of experience in consulting, healthcare operations, business operations, corporate strategy, private equity, investment banking, or another highly analytical and execution-focused environment
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional projects from strategy through implementation
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Strong project management and organizational abilities with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information and present clear, actionable recommendations
- Strong business judgment and ability to operate independently in ambiguous situations
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders across all levels of an organization
- Highly accountable, proactive, and results-oriented
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing organization with competing priorities
