If so, the Sampson County Department of Social Services is looking for you to join our team as a Foster Care Social Worker III!
About the Role:
As a Foster Care Social Worker III, you will:
- Provide specialized child welfare services in Foster Care, Permanency Planning, and Independent Living Services for children in DSS custody (ages newborn to 21).
- Work closely with families, foster parents, legal representatives, and community partners to create safe and supportive environments for children.
- Assess and implement intervention strategies to address medical, behavioral, and psychosocial needs.
- Advocate for children's well-being by ensuring compliance with state and federal policies, attending court proceedings, and developing permanency plans.
- Share responsibility for on-call duties, responding to urgent needs as required.
What You Bring:
We're looking for someone with a(n):
- Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices for complex casework and crisis intervention.
- Strong understanding of family dynamics, behavioral health, trauma-informed care, and intervention strategies.
- Ability to establish trust and build effective relationships with children, families, and community partners.
- Excellent communication skills to advocate for children and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License and willingness to travel as needed.
