Description
- Ensure full compliance with all tax regulations including VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT, and other local tax obligations.
- Review, reconcile, and approve periodic tax returns before submission to authorities.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess impacts, and provide timely advice to management.
- Lead tax audits and inspections, preparing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain and update the tax calendar to ensure all filing and payment deadlines are met.
- Prepare periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, yearly) and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting, tax, and internal financial policies.
- Prepare and review internal management reports to support business analysis and decision-making (e.g., revenue, cost, profitability, and performance reports).
- Review consistency between accounting records, financial statements, and tax declarations.
- Perform monthly/quarterly tax reconciliations between internal reports and statutory reports.
- Support Head of Finance in preparing management reports, tax forecasts, and cash flow impact analyses.
- Provide recommendations to optimize tax efficiency and mitigate potential tax risks.
- Review and advise on the tax implications of business contracts, supplier agreements, franchising, and intercompany transactions.
- Advise on tax matters for new business models, new store openings, and investment projects
- Work closely with non-finance, legal, and procurement teams to embed tax compliance into everyday business processes.
- Deliver tax training and updates to local finance teams, as well as operational leaders.
- Review, standardize, and optimize end-to-end processes to improve accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Lead the implementation of digital tools and automation to enhance tax data management, reporting, and reconciliation efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT, Accounting, and other department to ensure system integration between POS, ERP, and tax reporting platforms.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the Finance team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Auditing, or related field with Chief Accountant Certificate or CPA or equivalent certification.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, tax management, preferably in retail or F&B industry.
- In-depth knowledge of local tax laws, accounting standards, and reporting requirements. Strong understanding of corporate tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and logical thinking skills. High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in English (both written and spoken)
- Hands-on ability. Strong leadership, stakeholders and project management skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Team management experience
- Chief Accountant, Tax manager or Auditor in Big4 companies is highly preferred
