Job Description:
This job is responsible for managing risks associated with financial crimes, and ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations related to money laundering, economic sanctions, anti-bribery, corruption, and fraud. Key responsibilities include providing oversight, making strategic decisions, and advising on how to effectively manage these risks while adhering to key regulations. Job expectations include leveraging expertise, judgement, and influence to ensure compliance and operational risk management objectives and Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering program requirements are met.
The Global Economic Sanctions (GES) Control Tower Executive leads GES strategic initiatives and oversees key sanctions activities to ensure risks, issues, and information requests are addressed in a timely and consistent manner.
Key responsibilities include driving end-to-end coordination of GES activities, monitoring risks and deliverables, overseeing RAIs and related data requests, coordinating stakeholder reporting and escalation, and driving issue remediation. Job expectations include exercising significant independent judgment, providing credible challenge and ensuring transparency across GES activities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees strategic initiatives across Sanctions, coordinating priorities, execution, dependencies, risks, stakeholder engagement, and delivery against key objectives
- Drives end-to-end coordination of GES activities, directing activities from intake and prioritization through escalation, remediation, and closure
- Establishes operating routines, review standards, and quality controls to promote consistent, timely, and well-documented outcomes
- Coordinates RAIs and related data requests, including ownership, required inputs, milestones, dependencies, escalation, and response readiness
- Monitors the sanctions portfolio, delivery milestones, risk indicators, dependencies, and emerging concerns, escalating material risks and delays
- Coordinates management and stakeholder reporting on priorities, risks, issues, remediation progress, and key decisions
- Partners across Sanctions, Global Financial Crimes, Technology, Operations, Legal, GCOR, and line-of-business teams to align priorities, resolve barriers, and strengthen operating practices
- Directs and oversees the identification, mitigation, and reporting of risks related to financial crimes, to include risks of non-compliance with laws, rules, and regulations and the operational risks associated with people, processes, systems, and external events
- Provides insight into the identification, aggregation, reporting, remediation and thematic analysis of front line unit/control function-owned issues and control enhancements related to financial crimes processes
- Escalates and provide guidance into financial crimes risks through the appropriate governance routines, including management/board level committees
- Monitors the external environment for regulatory change and provide updates to policies, processes, procedures, and internal controls
- Directs and oversees the development and maintenance of a global coverage plan that defines the scope and risk-based focus of global financial crimes risk management activities

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in risk management or a related discipline
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional risk and control activities from intake through remediation and closure
- Knowledge of regulatory expectations, policies, procedures, controls, data, and governance practices
- Experience establishing operating routines, quality standards, management reporting, risk metrics, and escalation processes
- Ability to provide credible challenge, evaluate complex issues and supporting data, and influence decisions across senior and technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies, issues, information requests, and remediation actions in a dynamic risk environment
- Strong executive communication and written reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear risk implications, decisions, and actions
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in financial services; CAMS or related sanctions, risk, compliance, or analytics certification
