Senior Tax & Accounting Consultant – CFO Services - Istanbul

Basico is a consultancy founded in Denmark, advising some of Denmark's largest companies as well as fast-growing international businesses across finance, tax, HR & payroll and finance IT. Today we operate in Denmark, Turkey and Portugal, with many more countries to come in the near future.

We recently established Basico Turkey, and we are now looking for a Senior Tax & Accounting Consultant to join our growing CFO Services team.

Your role

As Senior Tax & Accounting Consultant, you will be responsible for the accounting, tax compliance and reporting of a portfolio of international clients operating in Turkey. You will work closely with our Finance Manager and client finance teams. This is an Istanbul-based role with a hybrid working model, combining work from our Istanbul office, remote work and on-site work at client premises.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Bookkeeping and month-end and year-end closing under TR GAAP (VUK)

• Preparing statutory financial statements and supporting the annual closing process

• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns, including VAT, withholding tax and corporate income tax (CIT)

• Managing e-invoice and e-ledger processes

• Preparing reconciliations and supporting GAAP adjustments for group reporting under IFRS/US GAAP

• Preparing group reporting packages and responding to questions from headquarters and auditors

• Contributing to process improvements and supporting client projects when needed

Your background and qualifications

We would like you to have:

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally from an audit firm, accounting firm or the finance function of an international company

• A degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field

• Solid knowledge of TR GAAP and Turkish tax legislation

• Experience with IFRS and/or US GAAP reporting (a plus)

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and strong Excel skills

• A structured, detail-oriented and hands-on way of working

• Fluency in Turkish and English

• An SMMM licence (a plus)
