Sales Director - Japan

To build something exceptional, you need exceptional people. Formlabs is growing its Japan presence and looking for a Sales Director to lead and scale our business in Japan, driving channel sales growth, empowering existing partners, and expanding our partner network.

Industry leaders such as Toyota, Yamaha, Tesla, Ford and Unilever rely on Formlabs. In Japan, we are experiencing rapidly growing demand across key sectors, including automotive, medical devices, and defense. These customers and channel partners require local leadership from a technical sales expert who can guide high-value opportunities and maximize market expansion.

The Job

• Drive overall channel sales growth in Japan (30%+)
• Support, manage, and scale existing channel partners to maximize sales
• Identify, recruit, and onboard new channel partners to expand market reach
• Partner with distributors on complex, high-value enterprise sales opportunities
• Guide partners on technical solutions, product demos, and executive presentations
• Develop account and territory strategies across key industrial, medical, and dental sectors
• Provide market intelligence and competitive feedback from Japan to global leadership

You

• STEM degree or engineering background
• Native Japanese speaker with business-level English
• Curious, hard-working, coachable, and eager to win
• Experience working in a channel sales model
• Comfortable operating independently in a market where Formlabs is still building brand awareness
• Willing and able to travel regularly across Japan to visit customers and partners

Bonus Skills

• Background in manufacturing, dental, medical, or automotive industries
• Experience with 3D printing, additive manufacturing, or adjacent hardware technologies
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
• Experience in a high-growth technology or startup environment
• Passion for emerging technologies and their industrial applications
