Description:

Job Title:   Transporter

Employment Type: Part Time, 22.5 hours per week

Shift:  Evening Shift, 3pm to 11pm with weekend rotation
Location: Nazareth Hospital

 

As a Transporter you will:

• Maintain Patient Safety in Preparation For Transport To Ancillary Areas As Well As Upon Return To Unit
• Position patients properly taking into account patient impairment, skin conditions, pain, size, age, etc.
• Able to perform CPR and emergency measures
• Follow any patient safety alerts, especially fall precautions
• Apply brakes on wheelchair and stretchers whenever assisting  transfer or leaving patient
• Never leave patient alone on stretcher with side rails down.
• Move wheelchair footrests and legs away before patient stands
• Properly complete a hand off communication with every transport (“ticket to ride”/passport), including alerting receiving staff of patient’s arrival
• Obtain assistance when needed

 Minimum Qualifications:

• Education and Training - High School diploma or equivalent. Pursuing higher education in healthcare preferred.
• Certification and Licensure - BCLS Certification required  
• Skills - Strong interpersonal skills, Self-directed, organized and able to work independently
• Prior inpatient hospital experience required
• Prior Hospital Transport experience desired
