A global medical assistance and travel insurance organisation is looking for a German-speaking Claims Handler to join their international team in Cape Town. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
You will play a key role in supporting travellers and insurance partners by managing medical and travel insurance claims from start to finish, while delivering exceptional service and maintaining high professional standards.
About the Role
As a German Claims Handler, you will manage incoming enquiries and insurance claims while liaising with international partners and travellers. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills in German and English, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
You will work within a multilingual team handling claims and assistance cases for European travel insurance clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage end-to-end insurance claims handling, including data entry and invoice assessment
• Respond to incoming email enquiries in German and English
• Coordinate communication and claims processing for medical and travel insurance cases
• Deliver professional and empathetic customer service to travellers and partners
• Ensure enquiries and claims are handled efficiently and within required timelines
• Work collaboratively within a multicultural and multilingual team environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and system records
Requirements
• Professional fluency in German (B2 level or higher)
• Demonstrated work experience using German in a professional environment (written and/or verbal)
• Matric certificate or higher qualification
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work proactively and perform well under pressure
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and computer systems
• German language proficiency certificate (B2 level or higher) must be submitted with your CV
• South African work visa already secured (preferred)
