As Junior Social Media Manager you will support the Social Media Strategist in delivering the brand’s social media strategy across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of social channels, ensuring content is published accurately and on time, communities are engaged, trends are identified, and social activity remains aligned with brand and marketing objectives.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands social culture, loves content, and has strong attention to detail.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Social Media & Content
- Manage the day-to-day social calendar and publishing across platforms.
- Coordinate social content with campaigns, launches, promotions, and key brand moments.
- Adapt campaign messaging into platform-native content, captions, and copy.
- Coordinate with designers, creators, agencies, and production teams to deliver social assets.
- Ensure content meets brand, platform, and creative requirements.
- Identify opportunities to repurpose and amplify strong-performing content.
Community, Trends & Culture
- Monitor and engage with comments, messages, mentions, and community conversations.
- Support UGC, competitions, and community-building initiatives.
- Identify relevant trends, creators, formats, and cultural moments.
- Monitor competitor and category activity and share relevant opportunities.
- Escalate customer service, reputational, or sensitive issues when required.
Creator & Campaign Support
- Support influencer and creator campaigns, including research, briefing, timelines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate social rollouts for campaigns, launches, activations, and promotional periods.
- Support live social coverage, competitions, and giveaways.
- Ensure creator and campaign content includes correct messaging, links, tags, and disclosures.
Reporting & Performance
- Track key social metrics including reach, views, engagement, follower growth, and content performance.
- Maintain regular reporting and campaign trackers.
- Identify high- and low-performing content and surface key observations to the Social Media Strategist.
- Support identifying strong organic content for paid amplification.
Platform & Stakeholder Support
- Stay up to date with platform features, trends, and algorithm changes.
- Support testing of new formats and platform functionality.
- Coordinate with marketing, brand, CRM, e-commerce, PR, and other teams on social requirements.
- Maintain content calendars, approval processes, and campaign trackers.
WHO YOU ARE:
This job is for you if you have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Media, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
- 1–3 years’ experience in social media, digital content, community management, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
- Strong social copywriting and communication skills.
- Understanding of social trends, culture, and platform-native content.
- Experience with social publishing, scheduling, or analytics tools.
Skills you already have:
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
- Genuine interest in content, digital culture, and consumer behaviour.
- Nice to have: Retail, lifestyle, or consumer brand experience; Influencer coordination, content production; social listening experience.
