About the Institute
The Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine advances ethics and policy work across medicine, public health, science, technology, and health systems. Its work centers on three interconnected areas: scholarship, education and mentorship, and ethics-informed institutional and policy engagement.
IBHP faculty collaborate across the Miller School of Medicine, the University of Miami, and national and international networks to address ethical, legal, social, and policy challenges in health, science, and society. Areas of focus include emerging technologies and AI; global and public health ethics; research ethics and governance; health law and policy; data governance and responsible innovation; and the ethical implications of rapidly evolving biomedical and health systems.
Position Overview
The Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy seeks an accomplished or emerging scholar for a full-time faculty position in bioethics and health policy at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Rank and track will be commensurate with experience and institutional criteria.
This position is part of IBHP’s strategic growth. The successful candidate will help expand the Institute’s research, education, policy, and global engagement portfolios through an independent and collaborative program of scholarship in bioethics, health policy, or a related field.
We welcome candidates whose work addresses ethical, legal, social, and policy challenges at the intersection of health, science, technology, and society, including emerging technologies and AI; global and public health ethics; research ethics and governance; health law and policy; data governance and responsible innovation; and rapidly evolving biomedical and health systems.
The successful candidate will be expected to publish rigorous, nationally visible scholarship; pursue extramural funding; contribute to teaching and mentorship; collaborate across disciplines; and participate in institutional, national, and global initiatives aligned with IBHP’s mission.
