Description
The Head of Communication Managers (Campaign and PMs) is responsible for the development and implementation of campaign and standalone projects and services allocated to the Communication Management Team as well as the good co-operation with Heads of the different services provided by ICF Next. This includes the management of dependencies between the various tasks, coordination of the work progress, review and approval of technical reports and deliverables and resolution of problems of an operational, contractual and financial nature. The Head of Communication Managers has also the mission to improve our workflows, increase our efficiency while striking to deliver outstanding quality and keep a strong focus on client engagement. S/he will also contribute to the Agency positioning, development of new services and engaged into strategic discussions.
Supervising the work of the Communication Management team, and coordinate their activities on a daily basis.
Supervising the Deputy Head of Communication Team and CMs coordinator (under specific framework) and providing guidance and coaching as to our ways of working.
Ensuring the correct financial management of the Team with the support ICF Next financial team (regular cost-controlling & monitor financial KPIs to ensure expected profitability, reporting to the co-Division lead)
Ensuring high quality work: meeting professional standards and client expectations, by ensuring Prince2 processes are applied by the team, by closely monitoring key projects that require a special attention (due to complexity or importance) or by assisting in the resolution in due time of any critical situation that may arise.
Working closely with the Heads of different services provided by ICF Next leaders in the setting up of project tasks force to ensure best service delivery and smooth collaboration between the team involved.
Facilitating smooth and fruitful cooperation with the Communication Management Team and the other departments, especially with the Account Directors.
Ensuring Communication Management team is working at its best level by encouraging team spirit, promoting professionalism and supporting training needs.
Ensuring that regular reporting on clients and projects status is carried out by the Team to the Account Directors and risks are flagged in advance.
Facilitating new business development activities by providing strategic input, ensuring the provision of adequate resources (for technical leader’s role) and facilitate close collaboration with the account development and new business teams. Ensure delivery of qualitative and timely manner of project references to support our bid preparedness activities.
Contribute to strategic account meetings and implementation of actions to be implemented by the Team.
Participate in key client meetings (kick off meeting, sales meeting with Ads, etc.)
Proactively propose updates on methodologies, lessons learned client intel to strengthen new business development and bid preparedness activities.
Supporting recruitment efforts for the Team by providing assistance in the definition of roles and identification of staffing needs.
Active participation to the Agency positioning, new services, communication trends by providing strategic insights/share opinions/gather client interests.
Cross division processes – come up with methodologies and solutions that can be replicated to other divisions or useful for cross-division projects. Attend regular meetings with other ICF heads of teams.
Reporting on the performance of the Team.
Regular reporting to the co-division leader.
Experience & Background
Minimum 10 years’ experience in leading and delivering complex communication, campaign and/or project management activities, ideally in an agency, consultancy or client-service environment
Strong background in strategic communications, campaign delivery, project management and/or client service management
Proven experience overseeing large, multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating work across different service lines or departments
Solid experience managing complex client projects, including operational delivery, financial follow-up, risk management and quality control
Experience working with senior stakeholders, account teams and clients, including participation in strategic discussions and key client meetings
Good understanding of project management methodologies and processes, ideally including Prince2 or similar structured project management approaches
Experience contributing to business development, proposal preparation, project references and the development of new services or agency positioning
