Manager, IE Process Engineering

Role Purpose:

As the Manager, IE Process Engineering, you will lead the Process Engineering team in delivering robust, efficient, and scalable manufacturing solutions that support the company’s strategic goals. You will take ownership of Process Engineering deliverables across New Product Introduction (PEP), Plant-to-Plant Transfer (PTP), Continuous Improvement (CIP), and Technology Development (TD) projects, ensuring the right balance of quality, time-to-market, resources, and cost. Your leadership will be key to successfully industrializing new products, transferring products between plants, and continuously improving manufacturing performance.

Beyond project execution, this role will build and develop a strong team of Process Engineering experts and foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will develop engineers into Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for selected production technologies and support their participation in regional SEA and global projects, including roles as Local/Global Technology Owners (LTO/GTO). Working closely with R&D, Technology Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and other functions, you will drive standardized, reliable, and sustainable manufacturing processes from concept through production release.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Lead Process Engineering strategy and performance by aligning team priorities with company objectives and delivering KPIs for PEP, PTP, CIP, and TD projects, including time-to-market, quality, lead time, productivity, and cost;

  • Own end-to-end Process Engineering deliverables for NPIs and transfers, covering processes such as SMT, molding, cabling, coil winding, COB, and other relevant technologies, from process concept and qualification through production acceptance and release;

  • Lead process and equipment industrialization by guiding the selection, purchase, installation, FAT/SAT, MSA, qualification, and release of machines, equipment, fixtures, and manufacturing processes;

  • Drive manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement by improving process stability, yield, manufacturing time, productivity, and cost through technology enhancement, automation, Industry 4.0, digitization, and process innovation;

  • Plan and manage team resources and budgets to meet project and departmental requirements, including manpower planning and annual budgets for machines, equipment, fixtures, and NPI activities;

  • Build technical capability and develop talent by mentoring engineers as SMEs in selected production technologies and enabling their active contribution to SEA and global projects, including LTO/GTO and Global Expert Team (GET) activities;

  • Strengthen cross-functional collaboration and standardization by partnering with R&D, TD, Quality, Manufacturing, and other IE functions to achieve product qualification, pilot builds, SOP/SOD readiness, process documentation, training, and standardized operational processes across plants;

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline;

  • Business-fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills; experience in industrial electronics, industrial sensors, automotive, or similar technology-driven manufacturing environments is preferred. German language skills are an advantage;

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years leading a Process Engineering team in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment;

  • Strong knowledge of production technologies and process qualification, with hands-on experience in at least two relevant technologies such as SMT, injection molding, ultrasonic welding, filling, wave soldering, gluing, lacquering, marking, coil winding, or similar processes;

  • Proven leadership, project management, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects, resources, budgets, and competing priorities;
