Bath College seeks to appoint an additional Junior IT Engineer to join its IT function. IT Engineers maintain and improve our digital infrastructure ensuring a secure and resilient foundation for the delivery of services across the organisation. In addition, our engineering team acts as a point of escalation, assisting first-line service desk staff to provide outstanding customer service by resolving complex incidents and requests. Working as part of a team, the postholder will have opportunities to use and develop system administration skills for network infrastructure, cybersecurity tools, Windows 11 and Windows Server, Linux, MacOS, Intune, Jamf, enterprise server/storage hardware and cloud infrastructure among other areas. The role is ideal for an individual with hands-on experience in some of the areas listed and looking to broaden and deepen their knowledge across a range of enterprise technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and enhance College IT systems
- Provide support in the use of, and troubleshoot problems with, College IT systems.
- Investigate and roll out new hardware, software, processes, and systems within the College.
- Install, configure, or upgrade College IT systems to suit current requirements.
- Analyse College IT requirements and research technical solutions to meet them.
- Collaborate with and, where necessary, supervise external support engineers.
- Work as part of a team to deliver large IT projects.
- Assist with the coordination and planning of projects and preparation of associated plans and reports.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT systems; suggest and research improvements to College systems
