Job Description
The Director, Business Analysis leads a high-performing team of business analysts responsible for translating business strategy into effective business and technology solutions across Insurance & Financial Services (I&FS). This role drives business analysis, process improvement, solution validation, testing, and production support to ensure strategic initiatives deliver measurable value and exceptional service. In collaboration with business and technology leaders, the Director and their team identify opportunities to enhance the Member experience, improve operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and proactively address changing regulatory and legislative requirements. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and people leadership to solve complex business challenges and drive organizational transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Business Analysis Function by establishing and adhering to the Project Lifecycle standards, methodologies, and best practices for requirements management, business process analysis, solution validation, testing, implementation support, and production readiness and support.
- Develop and Lead a High-Performing Team of business analysts by providing coaching, mentoring, professional development, and strategic direction to ensure delivery excellence and continuous growth.
- Drive Strategic Initiatives and Business Outcomes by leading and coaching a team of business analysts who collaborate with business and technology leaders to analyze opportunities, define business requirements, evaluate risks and impacts, and support the successful implementation of solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Advance Operational Excellence by guiding and overseeing business process improvement initiatives that enhance the Member experience, improve efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support compliance with evolving regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Provide Production Support and Continuous Improvement by directing and supporting the team's resolution of technical and operational issues, overseeing business analysis activities for maintenance enhancements and defects, promoting root cause analysis, and ensuring the implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvements to business processes and technology solutions.
- Provide Strategic Leadership and Partnership by mentoring and empowering the team while contributing to strategic planning, governance, vendor management, and organizational transformation efforts, and serving as a trusted advisor to business, technology, and executive leaders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience
- 15+ years of progressive business analysis experience, preferably within employee benefits, insurance, financial services, or a similarly regulated industry
- Proven people leadership experience, including 5+ years of experience leading, developing, coaching, and managing teams of business analysis professionals while successfully delivering large-scale business and technology initiatives.
- Deep expertise in business analysis, business process improvement, solution validation, requirements management, testing, and production support, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable solutions and measurable business outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies and frameworks, including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Waterfall, Lean, and Lean Six Sigma. Relevant professional certifications preferred (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, PMP, ACP, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, PRINCE2, CEBS).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills, with demonstrated success influencing stakeholders, driving consensus, managing competing priorities, and working effectively across business, technology, vendor, and executive teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to assess risks, identify root causes, develop recommendations, support regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in business processes, operational performance, and technology solutions.

Essential Physical Requirements:
- Requires close visual acuity to perform activities, such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing and writing; viewing a computer terminal; and reading details.
- Requires ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
Salary Range: $191,000 - $236,000 annual salary.
Final compensation determined by individual qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
