Description
The position also incorporates the responsible use of approved artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support design efficiency, accessibility, versioning, and content production, while maintaining strong human judgment, brand integrity, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design team and other colleagues to develop creative concepts and visual assets that support marketing campaigns and communications initiatives.
- Review existing brochures, newsletters, videos, presentations and other materials; plan, design and execute revisions, improvements and new materials as needed.
- Design and produce invitations, programs, brochures, posters, newsletters, advertisements and digital graphics for print and online use.
- Provide creative development and production-ready design for major ABCD , including the annual gala, Field of Dreams, Hoop Dreams, and other organizational initiatives.
- Drive or support tasks such as concept exploration, layout variations, image enhancement, resizing/versioning, captioning, and accessibility improvements, applying human judgment to all final outputs.
- Collaborate with Public Information colleagues to identify opportunities where AI tools can improve workflow efficiency, turnaround time, or consistency while adhering to ABCD brand, privacy, and quality standards.
- Maintain and organize the creative archive, photo library, and digital assets.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while coordinating with cross-functional
stakeholders. - Provide clear project updates, timelines, and status reports on assigned work.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing Department and external vendors to achieve optimal cost, quality and production outcomes.
- Stay informed about evolving design tools, platforms, and best practices relevant to
marketing communications. - Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, and at least three years of relevant experience in graphic and/or digital design is required.
- Experience with basic HTML/CSS, motion graphics, accessibility
standards, and/or project management tools is a plus. - Demonstrate a strong foundational knowledge of color theory, typography, and information hierarchy/layout
- High-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Experience working with CMS platforms such as WordPress and Wix.
- Comfort working on Mac or PC environments.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Experience designing for both print and digital channels, including social media, email, web, and event communications.
- Working knowledge of AI-assisted tools used in graphic design and marketing
communications, with the ability to integrate these tools into established workflows. - Strong understanding of the importance of brand consistency, data privacy, copyright, and ethical considerations when using AI tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
