If so, Student Accessibility Services (SAS) with Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for an Intake Coordinator! This position will be classified as a Student Services Specialist II.
The Intake Coordinator serves as a central point of contact for Student Accessibility Services, supporting the intake and coordination of communications from students, families, faculty, staff, and campus partners. The Intake Coordinator works closely with SAS staff to ensure timely processing of student requests, accurate information sharing, and effective coordination of services. This role requires strong customer service skills, excellent organizational abilities, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
Student Accessibility Services works with students with documented disabilities. Our staff reviews medical documentation to determine eligibility for academic, housing, facilities, assistance animals, and dining accommodations.
What You'll Do:
Conduct intake meetings with students and families to explain accommodation processes, eligibility requirements, and available services.
Review accommodation requests, medical documentation, and student records to support accommodation determinations.
Coordinate intake appointments and monitor student cases to ensure timely service delivery and follow-up.
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports to support case management and staff review.
Respond to inquiries and provide guidance to students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
Support office operations, including front desk coverage and testing/accommodation services as needed.
Assist with coordination of student employees, staffing coverage, and assigned projects.
Manage shared communications and route inquiries to appropriate staff members.
Create and distribute newsletters and outreach communications to promote services and resources.
This is a one-year, fixed term position with the opportunity for renewal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a higher education environment; ideally in student services
Experience preparing reports, presentations, correspondence, and marketing materials
Experience with data management, recordkeeping, and tracking systems
Experience working directly with students in educational settings
