Rink Attendant
Pay: $14.70 per hour
Temporary/Seasonal, Non-Exempt, Not Benefit Eligible

Work independently at one of our outdoor skating sites!
We’re looking for positive and enthusiastic people from all backgrounds and levels of experience to monitor our ice rink warming shelters.
This is a great opportunity for college students in the area to work during their winter break!
Applicants should enjoy working outdoors and have excellent customer service skills. Must be able to attend training on Thursday, November 5 (in-person or virtual). Shifts will consist of weekends, weeknights, no-school days, and holidays (Friday after Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, MLK Day, President’s Day).
Winter Rink Operation Dates:
Goat Hill: Monday, November 23, 2026 – Sunday, March 14, 2027
Other sites: Friday, December 18, 2026 – Monday, February 14, 2027
Other sites include Sky Hill, Bridle Ridge, and Rahn Park
Operational dates for rinks are weather dependent.
Shifts are typically 4-6 hours; weeknights 3:45pm - 9:15pm, and weekends, holidays, and no-school days will have three shifts to cover between 8:45am and 9:15pm.
Work anywhere from 4 to 24 hours per week! Weekly hours will be determined by availability, rink schedules, weather, and ice conditions.

- Greet and interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner
- Represent site as the only staff on location for extended periods of time
- Perform indoor and outdoor upkeep and maintenance: building/restroom cleaning, shoveling snow, moving hockey goals
- Prevent/mediate/resolve conflicts that may arise during scheduled facility hours and respond to inquiries or concerns
- Provide written and/or verbal reports on incidents and facility concerns
- Escalate and communicate concerns appropriately to the scheduled Site Coordinator and/or Recreation Supervisor
- Visually inspect and monitor the weather, ice, and facility conditions to ensure a safe environment
- Maintain records of attendance and maintenance needs
- Be inside 80% and outdoors 20% in the cold and snow – employees must wear weather appropriate clothing

- Must be able to perform the essential job duties under the working conditions as described
While no experience is needed for this job, you may be a great fit if you have:
- Previous work experience in winter outdoor facilities
- Participation in activities, sports, clubs, or other groups
- Ability to get to various work sites around the city
- Ability to work a variety of hours throughout the winter months
