Description
A leading organisation is seeking a Tax and Reporting Accountant to join its team in Midrand. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, managing tax requirements and supporting strategic decision-making across the business and its African operations.
Responsibilities:
- Consolidate month-end financial information and prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packs for key stakeholders and head office.
- Upload Actual, Forecast and Budget information onto Hyperion and Prevero.
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting.
- Manage tax calculations and returns, including Income Tax, VAT, WHT and PAYE, ensuring strict adherence to filing deadlines.
- Review intercompany transactions for tax and statutory compliance.
- Prepare financial inputs for Board and EXCO reporting packs and integrate commercial and financial reporting.
- Support internal and external audits, forecasting, DSO reporting and Business Unit reviews.
- Provide oversight of the financial and commercial reporting team and contribute to performance analysis, M&A activities and statutory structuring.
- Champion SHEQ standards and contribute to a Zero Harm culture.
Requirements:
- CA(SA) / CTA with articles and 6 years' post-qualifying experience.
- Advanced Excel skills, with evidence of financial modelling capability.
- Non-negotiable: Oracle and Hyperion experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and a sound understanding of taxation.
- Consulting experience and exposure to Africa will be advantageous.
- Strong people management, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercially astute, proactive, organised and adaptable, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and time-management abilities.
