Overview

Job SummarySupervises the Quality Assurance aspects of the 145 Repair Station to verify company compliance with FAA regulations. Plans and directs activities concerned with development, and maintenance of quality standards for the 145 Repair Station processes, materials, and products to ensure conformance with Federal Aviation Regulations, company specifications, and manual procedures. Oversees development of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Plans and works within an approved departmental budget.Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:• Oversee and train 145 department personnel (4-5 people) assigned to completions, to include work assignment, personnel scheduling and provide input on performance reviews and hiring decisions• Consult and coordinate with the Shop Supervisors on maintenance issues and project scheduling• Perform and oversee the approval for return to service after maintenance (in accordance with regulations, to include completion of FAA Form 337’s and logbook entries); airframe, engine(s), propeller (s), and appliances• Apply for Airworthiness Certificate, Ferry Permits, and Field Approvals• Ensure that aircraft or any component, returned to service meet type design or are properly altered state and in condition for safe flight• Ensure workmanship, installation, and functional testing results in a product that conforms to Type Design, applicable STC’s and flight safety requirements• Ensure aircraft airworthiness by maintaining safety conditions conforming to standards set by the FAA and company policy• Conduct and oversee necessary progressive and final inspections to assure the airworthiness/serviceability of aircraft and components thereof• Synthesize/utilize concrete technical knowledge to make decisions with regulatory requirements• Interpret technical information for field and department personnel and provides advice on compliance• Contact the FAA and other regulatory agencies and manufactures to clarify requirements and seek technical assistance• Research aircraft and engine maintenance log pages to ensure compliance with current regulations, manufacture’s programs and Air methods policies and procedures• Process and oversee work orders through all phases of a project• Perform and oversee parts room incoming and receiving inspections• Provide technical assistance in the development of AAIP and helps maintain revisions• Guide and assist Quality Assurance Inspectors with their areas of responsibility• Assist all department personnel with daily decisions whether technical or administrative• Ensure the department complies with Repair Station Certification requirements for operations• Assist in additions and revisions to repair station manuals• Review Engineering data process and procedures• Oversee inspections of articles and installations for conformity to approved data• Direct and/or assist with personnel issues including performance evaluations of department personnel• Performs other analysis as necessary• Other Duties as assigned.Additional Job Requirements• Regular scheduled attendance• May require travel, shift work, weekends, and overtime.• Indicate the percentage of time spent travelingSubject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. In accordance with applicable laws, Air Methods will provide reasonable accommodations that do not create an undue burden so disabled employees may perform the essential functions of the position.Education & Experience• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five or more years’ technical rotor wing related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.• 3-5 years previous experiences in a FAA Certified Repair Station.• Technical knowledge of AMC Fleet aircraft. Specifically: BHT-407, AS350, EC-130, EC-135, EC-145 (in order of preference).• Technical knowledge of all aircraft, appliances and processes approved on the FAA part 145 Operations Specification• Previous experiences in a FAA Certified Repair Station.• Proficient with FAR’s and ability to perform complex research of Federal Regulations.• Demonstrated commitment to airworthiness and qualify of aircraft parts approved for return to serviceSkills• Individual diversity and adaptability.• Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task and meet deadlines• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbalComputer Skills• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and OutlookCertificates, Licenses, Registrations• A&P Certificate.• IA Certificate preferred
