Description
We’re recruiting for a beautiful luxury hotel in County Durham, known for delivering warm, polished hospitality in an impressive setting. With a busy restaurant and bar operation, the hotel is looking for an experienced Bar & Restaurant Manager to take the lead across its front-of-house food and beverage service.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the dining room and bar, ensuring guests receive a seamless experience from breakfast through to afternoon tea and dinner.
This is a hands-on management role, so you’ll be visible on the floor, leading from the front and supporting a well-established team throughout service.
Due to the location of the hotel, you will need to drive and have your own transport.

- £40,000 per annum plus £2,000 service charge

Responsibilities as a Bar & Restaurant Manager…
- Overseeing the smooth running of the hotel’s dining room and bar
- Managing breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner services, catering for up to 40 covers
- Leading and motivating a team of 4–5 during service, within a wider F&B team of around 15–16
- Creating rotas and ensuring the department is appropriately staffed across all services
- Maintaining excellent standards of service and ensuring every guest receives a warm and professional experience
- Working closely with the General Manager and wider hotel team to keep operations running smoothly
This role would suit an experienced Bar & Restaurant Manager with a strong hotel background who enjoys being on the floor, leading a team and taking real ownership of their department. You’ll need to be organised, confident and personable, with a genuine passion for delivering excellent hospitality.
