About the role – Business Development Manager at Smith&Smith

We're looking for a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to identify and secure new business opportunities for Smith&Smith® across New Zealand. This is a growth focused role for someone with a genuine hunger for sales, strong relationship building skills and a customer first approach.

You'll develop new business across existing and emerging markets, with a particular focus on fleet, leasing, rental and trade opportunities. You'll also identify cross-selling opportunities across the Belron NZ profile, working closely with the Commercial team to develop strategic partnerships and deliver sustainable revenue growth.

This role will suit a confident relationship builder who can identify opportunities, influence decision-makers, negotiate effectively and turn prospects into long term customers.

Location: Support Office at 1 Carmont Place, Mount Wellington, Auckland 1060

Hours: 40 hours per week between 07:00am – 07:00pm Monday to Friday.

What we’re looking for:

• 3 – 5 plus years’ experience in business development or related commercial role, ideally within the building, construction or service industry.
• Open track record of winning a new business, securing commercial opportunities and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong commercial acumen with a genuine hunger for growth and a proactive, custom-first approach.
• Excellent relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to develop and execute effective business development strategies and plans.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple opportunities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
